DIY ADVICE
WHAT'S THIS TASK FOR?
This task, while covering all the word processing objectives, is presented in a
different format; i.e. the amendments are shown on the copy not given by instruction.
1. Load your word processing program.
2. Open a file and enter the text below:
GENERAL ADVICE ON REDECORATION
All portable furniture, ornaments, pictures, etc., should be removed from the room
before starting work. Everything that cannot be conveniently removed should be
covered with sheets of newspaper or dust sheets. This will protect any remaining
furniture from stray splashes of paint from the ceiling.
Firstly, wipe down the old paintwork, repair any defects and paint the ceiling and
frieze.
Secondly, apply a first (or under) coat of paint to the woodwork.
The next step is to repair any cracks in the plaster before hanging the new
wallpaper.
Care must be taken in not only the selection of the wallpaper, but also in the way it
is hung. Be careful, for instance, that you do not end up with one of the pieces placed
upside down!
Lastly, apply the final coat of paint to the woodwork.
3. Insert you name, centre number (39520) and todays date at the end of the piece.
4. Save your file as DIY ADVICE .
5. Load paper into the printer, and print a copy of the file

9. Change all the text to a justified right-hand margin in double line spacing
10. Print the document.
11. Close down the system.
