Anuban Weekly Outline


This week we are learning:

Town & Country

Circle Time Review


This week in circle time we will practice
the songs we have already learned and
talk more about the days of the week,
months of the year and weather. We will
also go over all of the town and country
vocabulary from the previous week.
This week in phonics circle time we are
going to review all four sets of jolly
phonics we have previously covered. We
will play spalt using the alphabet
flashcards and flashcard draw. We will
also focus on distinguishing between the
upper and lower case alphabet.

Review
Phonics
This week in phonics the class will
start Oxford Phonics World book 2
Unit 1, a, am, an sounds (cat, ant, yak,
ax, ram, jam, yam, dam, fan, man,
pan, can). We will be using listening,
reading and writing skills to do
exercises in the workbook. I will use
the flashcards to introduce the new
words and we will play some games
such as splat and flashcard draw to
practice the words and sounds. This
week I will focus on cat, ant, yak, ax.
We will then do exercises in the
workbook which involve matching
pictures to the words and matching the
two words that rhyme. Any unfinished
work will be given as homework at the
end of the week

Activity Time
This week during activity time we will continue to go over the new vocabulary and
associate things with the town or country. The children will be given a variety of tasks and
games that should reinforce their knowledge of associating things with the town and
country.
Activities: We will make toilet paper roll mice. We will watch a video and differentiate
between the town and country.
Songs/videos: We will sing the country mouse song and the old macdonald song.
Games: We will play games like bowling, fly swat, and matching to help the students wit
Worksheets: We will complete colouring worksheets and counting worksheets. This
week I will try to focus more on hand writing worksheets as this is the area that the
students could use the most improvement.

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
Vocabulary: town, country, bus, building, apples, apple tree, cheese, milk, cow, mouse,
farm. Are they in the town or the country?
Where do natural foods come from? Where does cheese and milk come from?
Where do apples come from?
Phonics: all letters that we have covered in the last 4 weeks.
Sight words: this, that, these, those, they

Writing Practice
The students will do an exercise
where they will practice writing in
their handwriting booklets. We are
looking for correct shape and size.

Parent Follow Up / Useful


Websites / Homework:
Dear Parents. Please practise English as
much as possible with your child and ask
them their name, age and where they are
from. Also please encourage the students
to practice their phonic alphabets at home
and spelling words using the phonic
alphabet. This is good practice to help
with reading. Please also encourage your
child to listen to the Youtube link to the
phonic alphabet.
