Merdeka Inter-Museum : The Journey

Introduction
Since 1511, our beloved land has fallen into foreign colonizer, Portugese then come the
Dutch during 1641. Nearly 200 years later, the British came and colonized our land but
untill 1941 the Japanese managed to snatch Tanah Melayu but later declared their
defeats against British on 1945. Since then our first fight against Merdeka has begun.
Problem Statement
On 31 August 1957, our nation has been declared free from Colonist and reclaimed our
freedom back after nearly 450 years under various colonist. Since then, a lot have
changes by our spirited citizens and leaders to achieve what we have today. After 58
years of Merdeka, the spirit that once we had as a nation seems depleted amongst
todays generation.
There are a lot of efforts done by our concerned Government to improve this
matter as its getting serious lately with various cases that proved that Patriotism is
lacking in our generation. In architectural concerns, there are lack of effective
architecture to counter these issues.
The logic of proposing a Museum to encounter these issues is that museum has
been around since 530 B.C. A museum is an institution that cares for (conserves)
a collection of artifacts and other objects of scientific, artistic, cultural,
or historical importance and makes them available for public viewing
through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary. [1]

Thesis Statement
Merdeka is soon forgotten and creating debris of its memories in pieces. Creating
a whole new combination of different programs as an architecture will restore the
spirit that has been absent in the heart of todays generation. A Junkspace
injected with totally divergent programs will restore the spirit of Merdeka to its
vertex.
Towards designing an tremendous, effective and meaningful architecture of Merdaka,
study the cause and effective architecture is a must. On the other hand, research
should be conducted to discover suitable program to inject in the building to give the
utmost affectionate towards human. In order to design a effective Merdeka architecture,
site location, space planning and facilities must be taken into design consideration to
cater their needs. This is because to achieve the center of objective which enhance the

spirit of Merdeka among youth. Besides that, with good design quality, hopefully will
create a better understanding of Merdeka among youth then the outcome will gives the
nation a patriotic generation.

and a urban park towards creating an architecture
