4.0 Inspection
1. Ensure busduct alignment is straight before energizing it.
2. Ensure all joints are tightened to recommended torque before energizing.
3. Measure the insulation resistance of the busduct before energizing. Under dry atmosphere, the
value of resistance should be 100 M (500V Megger). However, the resistance value could not
be specified due to different length of the busduct route and environmental condition.
4. In case of reading value less than 10 M, thorough examination is required as there exist factor
which decrease the insulation and energizing is not recommended.
5. Check for any water ingress due to leaks from the building piping or other facilities.
6. Check for adverse temperature rise after energizing the busduct.
7. If there is abnormal temperature in the joint areas, de-energize the busduct and examine the
tightness of the joint and if appropriate torque is used.
5.0 Maintenance
1. Periodic inspection should be performed to detect any problems with the busduct system.
2. During inspection, check for loosen joint bolts, busduct temperature and moisture or water
dripping from leakages.
