Hey all,

Good to have you here again in this column. It was an enjoyable week isn’t?...
Classes only till 2:30, freedom to cheer your department, opportunity to stress out
and finally the climax – Orientation Olympics. Hope this sets in a fresh wave of
energy amidst all of you. Today, I thought I will share with you some of my
learning’s from NASSCOM INDIA LEADERSHIP FORUM on organizing conferences. By
the way im able to sense that you would fit into either of the two categories, One-
Have Organized events Two- Haven’t organized events. This little piece of writing
from me would be of relevance to both the category of people, provided you are
interested!

Briefly, the 10 things that I would touch upon in this article are the following

1. Early event intimations.

2. Facilitation of social networking prior to the event days.

3. Well streamlined on the day Registrations.

4. Meticulously planned Sessions.

5. Branded Stage arrangements.

6. Super visibility for the Sponsor.

7. Pleasant Evening entertainment Arrangements

8. Dynamic Public Relations.

9. Convenience of Online Connectivity.

10.Excellent Brand publicity.

1. Early event intimations:
The event’s theme, logo, sessions, online portal , early bird offers were up
and running from September. Mind you, for the information to be ready there
must have been atleast 1 to 2 months of work prior to the release of
information. For an event to be organized in February being prepared with all
the necessary information 5 months before is an excellent achievement. It
requires vision, planning and a wonderful team. Another feature which
shouldn’t go unnoticed is the convenience provided to the participant to
make the payment either through credit card, by cash or by Demand draft.
And more importantly the “Early bird” offer which ensured quick
registrations and cash necessary to fuel the execution of the event.
2. Facilitation
of social networking prior
to the event days:
As stated in my earlier article one reason why many of them gather at a
conference is to network with people of similar interests. With the advent of
Social networking NASSCOM smartly got hold of this concept of bringing the
delegates online much before the event through their internally developed
portal “NASSCOM Connect” and enabled people to know each other, to fix
meetings at the conference & finally to gain an understanding of the
demographics of the participants.
3. Well
streamlined on the day
Registrations:
These are automated booths where one can go ,type in the registration number
and automatically print the Conference Badge.
4. Meticulously planned Sessions:
5. Branded Stage arrangements:
6. Super visibility for the Sponsor:
7. Pleasant
Evening entertainment
Arrangements:
8. Dynamic Public Relations:
These were published the very next Day.

9. Convenience of Online Connectivity:

10. Excellent opportunity to network:
