Steps to enable OMH SIM with Corby Speed.

Finally my new corby speed phone has been configured for new OMH SIM . The
customer service person at Tata Indicom Gallery , Plaza, Dadar helped me to enable the
SIM.

I have documented below the installation steps of the OMH SIM for new corby speed
purchased from Tata Indicom dealer network.

Steps to enable OMH SIM with Corby Speed.

Warning : Please call Tata Indicom customer care to re-confirm the steps given blow
once you receive the upgradation kit e.g. 121 help line for post paid customers. This
documentation is created based on my personal experience while enabling OMH SIM
card for corby speed.

Pre-requisite :

1) Your existing CDMA handset with existing Tata Indicom SIM. This handset must be
functional and. You should be able send the SMS with this handset.

2) New Corby Speed CDMA handset.

3) OMH Handset Upgrade Kit (This should include 1 unit of OMH SIM card and 1 unit
of OMH handset change Card ).

Some of the instructions , terms and conditions on OMH handset change card are as
below :

i) Please check for tampering on the scratch area and outer area wrapping before purchase
of kit.

ii) Handset change card can be used to upgrade to all kinds of T-SIM & Non-T-SIM
handsets. Applicable to Tata Indicom handsets only.

iii) Only active Tata Indicom postpaid and prepaid users can avail this facility

iv) The entire operation of enabling OMH SIM should be completed within 24 hrs.

v) This pack can be used only for one upgrade.

vi) The handset change will happen only on OTAF enabled target handsets.

Note :

a) The new OMH SIM and OMH handset change card(with Activation pin) included in
OMH Handset Upgradation Kit.

b) You should receive / get the OMH Handset upgradation Kit from Tata Indicom dealer
or Tata Indicom gallery. This kit does not come inside the new corby speed handset box.

c) The Upgrade kit is specific to Tata Indicom with OMH logo on the credit card size
pocket. The reliance OMH card does not work with Tata Indicom. If you want to use data
services (e.g. internet , email etc ) , please don't buy it from Reliance dealer, because they
cannot offer you the OMH Handset upgrade kit for Tata Indicom T-SIM..

d) The OHM handset upgrade kit should have date 12/2009 or later.

e) You should not other OMH card available for other type Samsung phones.
f) This kit is specially manufactured to upgrade/transfer existing number to new OMH
SIM (which is inside the kit).

Steps to Transfer existing post paid mobile number to new OMH SIM
==================================================

Step1 - Scratch the panel on the OMH handset change card (activation card with pin) .
You will see the 14 digit PIN on it.

Setp2 - For post paid customer - Register the new SIM by sending SMS to 2888 as below
from your existing CDMA phone. Please refer no1 pre-requisite.

POSTCHANGE <14 digit pin>

Note : Type postchange in capital, then single space , then enter 14 digit number i.e. pin
on activation card .

You will receive a confirmatory SMS on successful registration as below :

Dear Customer, Your request has been successfully registered. Please dial *228 from the
new handset to activate - Tata Indicom.

Step 3: After Receiving confirmatory SMS , please insert new OMH SIM card into new
corby speed handset and dial *228 and follow instructions and key in the same PIN as
used earlier to activate the new handset.

Some of the instructions are as :

When you dial *228 you will be prompted as below
- Select the type of connection - post paid
- select language - English
- enter the pin

Once the PIN is accepted you will get an SMS on your new handset (with new OMH
SIM card) confirming that your old number has been activated on your new handset.

Now switch off the old handset ( with old sim card inside)

Now SWITCH OFF and SWITH ON the new corby handset (with new OMH sim card
inside.

Note :
a) This has to be done within 24 hours of step 2, else the PIN will become invalid.
b) If there is an error , then you will get SMSe - sorry , the PIN you have entered is
incorrect. Please SMS the correct 14- digit PIN again - Tata Indicom.

There could be various reasons for above error e.g. i) you have entered wrong PIN ii) the
PIN is not entered within in 24 hours after STEP-2 iii) you are using wrong activation
card iv) you are using activation card of old OMH handset SIM & activation card v) you
are using activation card of OMH SIM not meant for upgradation of Handset vi) You are
using OMH SIM of Reliance. etc.

Note : All above instructions are given on the OMH handset charge card of Tata Indcom,
which is included in OMH Handset upgrade Kit.

Steps to Transfer existing pre paid mobile number to new OMH SIM
=================================================
Note : These steps are documented based on the instructions on the OMH handset change
card . The OMH Handset upgradation kit is same for prepaid and postpaid users. I
haven’t tried myself these steps. I have just drafted it for prepaid customers.

Step1 - Scratch the panel on the OMH handset change card (activation card with pin) .
You will see the 14 digit PIN on it.

Setp2 - For post paid customer - Register the new SIM by sending SMS to 12522 as
below from your existing CDMA phone. Please refer no1 pre-requisite.

PRECHANGE <14 digit pin>

Note : Type prechange in capital, then single space , then enter 14 digit number i.e. pin
on activation card .

You will receive a confirmatory SMS on successful registration as below :

Dear Customer, Your request has been successfully registered. Please dial *228 from the
new handset to activate - Tata Indicom.

Step 3: After Receiving confirmatory SMS , please insert new OMH SIM card into new
corby speed handset and dial *228 and follow instructions and key in the same PIN as
used earlier to activate the new handset.

iv) you are using activation card of old OMH SIM v) you are using activation card of
OMH SIM not meant for upgradation of Handset vi) You are using OMH SIM of
Reliance. etc.
