Evolution

Below is a list of key questions you need to be able to answer in

order to succeed in your science exam for this module. If you feel
confident about the key point and could answer questions about it
comfortably, colour the box in green. If you are less certain, but feel
you know a little, colour the box in orange/yellow and if you are
totally at a loss, colour the box in red. As you continue to revise,
hopefully all the boxes will be coloured in green!

Evolution

Understand Darwins theory of Evolution

Understand Lamarcks theory
Be able to suggest reasons for the different
theories
Know what Natural Selection is and why it
occurs
Know the factors that can lead to extinction
Know the effect a gene mutation may have on
the evolution of a species
Know that fossils provide evidence of
Evolution

nucleus of a cell

Know the difference between sexual and
asexual reproduction (gametes and clones)
Understand cloning techniques such as tissue
culture, embryo transplants, cuttings and
fusion cell cloning

enzymes and transferred to other cells and
organisms so the early embryo can develop
with desired characteristics
