PROSPECTUS

Graduate with English under Part III (Model I, II & III) and all graduate in the faculties of
Arts, Social Science, Science, Oriental Studies who have taken not less than three papers
under compulsory English (out of a total of 300 marks) and not less 45% marks in Part III
including Subsidiaries. The Stipulations of Part I English will not apply to B.A English
Model II and BA English Model III Communicative English (Three Main System). BA
Communicative English (Single Main) can be admitted on the basis of Part I English
marks alone % of marks obtained under Part I (BA/BSc) English or % of marks obtained
under marks scored for the main / core / major (standardized to a toal of 600 marks), in the
case of those who have taken English as optional under Part III for the BA model I/II
degree courses. The weigtage will be 5% only in the case of model III BA Communicative
English (Three main system).

Muslim Educational Society (MES) is one of the biggest educational agencies in the state.

The form of application along with intimation card and computer data sheet duly filled in
may be sent to the Principal so as to reach him on or before the date specified on the
College Notice Board. In order to send the intimation cards under registered post sufficient
postal stamps also must be affixed.

Presently it runs First grade Aided Arts & Science colleges, Self Financing arts and science
Colleges, Training Colleges, Professional Colleges, (which included Medical college, Dental
college, Engineering Colleges, Nursing Colleges, Architecture Colleges and Management

In all subsequent enquiries regarding admission, Registration number noted in the


acknowledgment card and the course applied for shall be quoted.
The students eligible for admission will be called for interview. The interview card will be
send to the applicant assigning the date of interview with the principal. This card however
does not guarantee admission.
While interviewed, the applicant shall accompanied by the parent / guardian.
The applicant shall produce at the time of interview, besides the intimation card, all the
documents mentioned below.
a) Transfer Certificate from School / College last attended.
b) Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
c) Mark list of qualifying examination.
d) Community certificate in the case of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other
Eligible Communities.
e) Migration certificate of students who have passed from any other University /
Board must be produced within a month, after enrollment.

Three passport size photographs.
If, after the interview, admission is secured, the applicant shall get himself enrolled forth
with on payment of fees prescribed for admission.
If the selected candidate fails to produce the above certificates and to remit the fees
payable on the date of admission, they will loss their claim for admission.
Non-receipt of intimation card will not be an excuse. The list of selected students and the
time and date of interview will be displayed in the college notice board.
Students have to stay with their parents or guardians / college hostels.
All students and their parents must submit anti ragging affidavits at the time of admission.

MES College Marampally in an aided college affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam. The college
is reaccredited by NAAC with B grade (Score 2.77) in 2012 and recognized by UGC. The college
is located between the towns of Aluva and Perumbavur (KSRTC route). The campus is spread out
in a hilly stretch surrounded by lush greenery, in close vicinity to the river Periyar
The college now offer Fourteen UG Programmes and Nine PG programes. Selection of
the students for admission to various programmes will be made accordingly to the M.G.
University rules in force. The rules of admission and courses offered by the college and
eligibility for admission as given below.

RULES OF ADMISSION
MERIT QUOTA
The merit seats of this college is filled by the single window system of M. G. University
called Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). Selection of students for admission to various
programmes will be through CAP. For submitting application in CAP, the candidates must
visit the website www.mgu.ac.in. Candidates seeking admission under Cultural / Sports
quota should apply directly to the college.
B.Sc. Biotechnology and B.Sc. Microbiology courses have not come under CAP. Students
seeking admission to these course can apply directly to the college. Application forms are
available at the college office.
COMMUNITY QUOTA
The seats under community quota are reserved for students of Muslim community and
such seats shall be filled on the basis of merit. Students wish to apply under community
quota should directly apply at the college.
MANAGEMENT QUOTA
20% seats of aided programmes and 50% seats of self financing programmes come
under management quota. These seats shall be filled by the management from among
candidates of their choice. Students seeking admission under management quota should
submit management quota form along with their application.

BONUS MARKS
Bonus Marks of NCC will be awarded as the basis of NCC Certificate signed by the Director
and issued by the Directorate of NCC. In respect of NSS Candidates the bonus marks will be
awarded on the basis of NSS Certificate issued by the concerned authority. Bonus mark
shall be awarded to the Ex service men applicants.
FEES
The amount of fees payable at the time of admission will be displayed on the Notice Board.
For Aided courses, tuition fees and special fees as per government rules applicable to Aided
Arts & Science Colleges. For self-financing courses, the tuition fees and special fees as per
M.G. University norms. Students of self financing courses should pay their semester fees at
the beginning of each semester. Fees once paid will not be refunded on any account
A student joining at any part of a term will have to pay all the fees for the term.

A student leaving at any part of term is liable to pay


all the fee for the term.
Every student shall pay the whole of fees and
special fees at the time of admission.
UNIFORM
The college has an approved pattern of Uniform
Dress which is binding on all students. The cost of
the uniform materials will be collected at the time
of admission.
IDENTITY TAG
An Identity tag will be issued to every student. The
cost of the ID tag will have to be met by the
student. Students must wear the identity tag
whenever he/she is in the College campus and shall
be produced for inspection by any member of the
staff. (If this ID tag is lost a duplicate may be issued
at the students expense, with the special permission
of the Principal).
HOSTEL
Hostel facilities are available for students.
COLLEGE BUS
College Buses are available from Kaloor, Vyttila,
Thrippunithura, Kakkanad, Cheranallore, Edvanakad,
Paravoor, Kodungallur, Athani, Aluva Kothamngalam,
Muvattupuzha & Perumbavur.
