Leadership Development
Instructions on Assessment:
You will be assessed by the following elements:
Produce a 3500 word individual essay analysing and assessing your own leadership capability
and competence.
You are required to integrate 2-3 relevant leadership theories of your choice and critically
discuss and compare your own leadership attributes and capabilities against the frameworks
selected.
You are expected to draw your work to a close by providing a conclusion based on the findings
and insights gained, highlighting your future personal and professional leadership
development areas.
You will need to incorporate your development areas into a personal development plan (to be
included in the appendix).

provided in your programme handbook. You will receive written feedback for your assignment
within four weeks of submission.

At the end of the module, students should be able to:

an organisational, social, environmental and multicultural context.
1b. Critically analyse and evaluate their own leadership and management development strategies to
meet current and future personal and organisational needs.
1c. Explain and evaluate the role of leadership and management development in enhancing and
developing organisational competence.
1d. Critically assess, evaluate and apply approaches to their personal and professional development
of key leadership skills and competencies.
1e. Act ethically and professionally with a demonstrated commitment to leadership and management
development and to continuous personal and professional development.

Having successfully completed the module you will be able to:
