Choroszy Modelbud 1/72 MTM Assault Italian Motorboat & Linse Explosive German Motorboat #S52

Now this is definitely an unusual subject. There is a short history of these printed on the instruction sheet. Basically, these boats were loaded with
explosives packed into the boats bow, and whilst the pilot aimed the boat at full speed at the target, he jumped ship a distance before his boat struck
its target, hopefully exploding and sinking the vessel. Indeed, these were used with a degree of success and are worthy of a place in your modelling
collection simply for the talking point!
Inside the box, there are essentially 2 large bags, each containing a kit, with parts bagged up inside these to protect them from damage. These arent
difficult models to make, but their size will require some patience.

All parts are moulded in Modelbuds pale yellow resin and each kit comprises around 35 parts approximately. Two individual sets of instructions are
included for each kit, and again, no parts are numbered or inventoried, so you must check out the kit contents against the instructions to ensure that all
parts are present and correct.

Parts are generally all very well moulded with minimal flash, but care will need to be taken with some very delicate parts such as rails which are
incredibly thin. If all fails, you could make these from wire which may look better than trying to make an even looking rail whilst the part is cleaned up.

Each boat comes with a resin figure also. The detail on them is pretty good but not easily seen unless you look closely at the resin. A coat of primer will
bring it out though. It is good to have figures as these give a good idea of the scale of the subject; an area I was a little critical over on one of Modelbuds
previous releases, the Grillo.
So what do we think?
In all, 2 very nice kits in one box, each coming with its own stand. A fairly simple set which would be ideal for a newcomer to resin modelling.
Recommended.
Overall 8/10
Many thanks to Choroszy Modelbud for the review sample. Check out the distributor for your country via their website.
