Dr. Palaniuk’s Report Board Notes. June 24,2015 KIDS Training-Nearly all kindergarten teachers attended the two-day training put on by ISBE related to the new assessment program to be put in place beginning the 2015-2016 school year. Each school will score ONE ofthe domains during the ‘upcoming school year for practice in making the observations and putting them into the state website. Attached also is the new state requirements for the phase in ofthe IDS program. You will notice full implementation is not required until the 2017- 2018 school year. Even ina full day program itis a lot for the teachers to do. Along ‘with treining and practice we are confident that the implementation will go through withouta hitch, Safety Meeting-The annual safety meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7 2015. The meeting begins at 0900. The meeting involves al the local police and fire ‘departments of Channahon, Joliet, Minooka, Shorewood, and Troy. This commitiee annually reviews our emergency procedures for the district. If you would like to ‘attend, please fee! free to do so, The meeting will be held in the boardroom. MEA Agreement-Colleen and | have met with the association to go aver some of the procedural issues on how the implementation of the new contract Isto take place. Questions we have or areas that we are stil! not clear on, we will share with you at the meeting-—hopefully before the board approves the agreement. Jump Start-This program, pad for by Title | funds, will take place the first two weeks fof August. We currently have 102 students signed up for the program that incluces reading and writing ELL Extended School Year-We had 32 students sign up for and attend the extended ‘school year the second week of June. Itculminated in a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium. [NCLB and ELL Grants-Both grants forthe district have been approved by the state. ‘This is the quickest and soonest the grants have ever been approved. We recelve approximately $200,000 for Title I; $24000 for Title Il; $24000 for TBE/TPI; and {$1400 for LIP/LEP students Building Inspections-The ROE inspected all buildings n the district and all were found to be in compliance. A great job to staff and the maintenance /custodial crew for this rating, General State Aid-The report has been filed and approved by the Regional Office. Last years best three months was 3669.32 ADA. This years best three months was 3768.23. This is an increase of 98.91 student days of attendance over last year. The {growth Seems to be starting and steadily is increasing Enrollment-As you look at the enrollment, if you have any questions, please let me know. ‘Nurse's Reports-Please find attached the nurse's report for May and June for your perusal. ‘Tentative Budget-Colleen and lare getting numbers in place for the upcoming ‘school year and willbe sharing that information with the new superintendent. Grundy County joint Agreement-You have the amended agreement for your review. ‘No action is needed, however there are some items | want to go over with you as ‘well as some issues related to the Pre-School Grant.
