The unique paddle wheel design of the sensor permits it to be mounted in any plane..i.e.
the unit can be installed in vertical as well as horizontal piping. Insert the blind plug supplied
along with the meter in the fitting and flush the line with water. Depressurize the line, remove
the blind plug and insert the flow sensor gently. Ensure that the sensor O-rings are in place and
slightly greased. Push the sensor in till the threaded cap touches the T fitting. Before tightening
the cap ensure the direction of the sensor is proper. Incase of panel mounted units the arrow on
the sensor should point in the direction of flow. In case of field mounted units the sensor must
be mounted such that the display becomes parallel to the pipe line. Start tightening the cap by
hand. For ensuring the sensor in correct position a male/female locking arrangement has been
provided in the sensor and the fitting respectively. While tightening the sensor cap, by a slight
angular motion, one can get an idea of proper locking properly locked sensor/fitting will not have
any angular motion.

Reject flow meter: The disturbances created in the flow/velocity profile are
maximum in this case. It is best recommended to provide an elbow immediately
after the reject control valve followed by the 10 D straight run. In case the outlet
is likely to be opened to atmosphere immediately after the sensor, mount the sensor
in a vertical plane with entry from the bottom.

key.

The vats batcher consists of the following three parts i.e.

1.The flow sensor 2. The electronic module 3. Installation fitting

Flow sensor: Refer JT 121 data sheet

Electronic module: The module basically consists of an LED bar graph of 10 LEDs, which

indicates the % of the output (set), completed. Once the desired output is attained the
unit shows all the ten LEDs ON and the relay inside the unit gets energized for 2
seconds. The relay output is fed to the auto valve actuator to initiate the regeneration
process. Since the unit is used to initiate regeneration process, the unit must be set for
AUTO reset mode i.e. the batcher would automatically reset after giving a 2 second
pulse. The four LEDs below the bar graph are used in the setting of the batch count.

Fitting:
For easy installation a TEE type fitting is supplied with the batcher of the suitable pipe
size. This fitting has BUILT IN FLOW STRAIGHTENERS. These ensure that long
upstream/down stream straight lengths are not required. Standard fittings are available
with BS 10 table D drilling flanges.

key. All the LEDs will switch off except the SET LED which will stop

blinking indicating that the BATCHER is in service.

NOTE:
If the batcher is to be set in an auto-reset mode then all Leds must be ON, where as if only 50% of
LEDs are kept ON then the unit would operate on a MANUAL RESET MODE .i.e. once the desired
quantity of the liquid passes through the meter, the relay would get energised.
Press ENT key to RESET the Relay. In an Auto reset mode the relay would get reset after 2 seconds.
For setting any digit, the SET key is pressed such that the number of LEDs that glow in the bar graph 0
to 9 correspond to the value of the digit. During normal service the Last LED of the Bar graph would
keep blinking whenever flow takes place. The % completion of the output would get displayed in the
BAR GRAPH.

For setting the relay mode auto/manual, press set key and enter a
password of nine. Press enter key. The bar graph will either show all
LEDs ON(auto reset) or 5 LEDs ON (manual reset).Press set key to
toggle to the required setting. Press enter key. Relay MODE is set.
