Moorestown High School senior Michael Barsoum leaps across the inflatable Wipe Out style obstacle course at the Senior Picnic on
Monday, June 15. As part of their weeklong Project Graduation celebration, seniors were able to enjoy a fun lunch hour at MHS featuring inflatable games and obstacles, lawn games, prize-winning competitions and various food, all provided by area donors. For more
photos, please see page 11. For a list of graduating seniors, please see page 10.
Moorestown High School celebrated the graduates of the senior class of 2015 on Thursday,
June 18 at the MHS stadium.
Three hundred and thirty seniors
in cap and gown took their final
steps as high school students and
began new steps to their next
journey in life.
On that day, students, administrators, families and friends were
addressed by class of 2015 valedictorian Saylor Brisson and
salutatorian Olivia Saouaf, giving
hope and inspiration to the class
of 2015 for the future.
The Sun took some time to
speak to Brisson and Saouaf on
graduating, their speeches, their
future goals, memories and more:
The Sun: How do you feel about
graduating?
Brisson: I mean, it is very sad.
Its like were moving onto a new
era of our lives. It is bitter sweet

4th of July
Committee
hosts events
Moorestowns 4th of July Committee is going to have the parade
again this year, assuming there is
no violent weather that day, as
there is no rain date.
On June 4, the committee held
the third annual Freedom Lecture. This informative talk took
place in the Moorestown Library
and featured a speaker from the
National Constitution Center in
Philadelphia who spoke about the
Constitution and its interpretations now and when it was created. This talk resulted in a full audience and the committee thanks
everyone for coming.
The committee also holds the
Freedom Poster Contest in the
various Moorestown schools to
promote awareness of our freedom among the young students.
The winners of the Freedom
Poster Contest will ride in the parade.
The 2015 parade will step off at
noon, heading up Chester Avenue, turning right on East Main
Street to Church Street where it
officially ends. Families are welcome to participate with their
decorated bikes, scooters and
wagons. We welcome veterans
and
encourage
all
of
Moorestowns civic organizations
to also participate in the parade.
To participate or donate, go to
www.moorestown4thjuly.org.

Moorestown High School gave seniors a special picnic on Monday, June 15 as part of their weeklong Project Graduation celebration. Clockwise from above: Seniors sit together to eat, talk and sign yearbooks
during their Senior Picnic. Aine Filler, Jolene Brandimarte, Cassidy DeDany, Maura Genevro and Natalie
Cooper smile for a picture while waiting in line at the shaved ice truck. Anthony Williamson shows off his
senior yearbook. Hannah Sauerwein and Camille Groody cool down with some shaved ice, paid for by
Project Graduation. Myles Edgerton and Will Emerson play against each other in the basketball toss.
Alex ODonnell, Abbey Brooks, Melanie Becker, Carter Orth, Jessi Button, Ronda Chrone and Maggie
Handlan stop for a quick photo as they enjoy the warm weather and many activities. Bobby Daglian takes
his turn to conquer the Wipe Out inspired obstacle. Bottom of page, from right: MHS senior girls dash
after the soccer ball to try to score a goal inside one of the inflatables. Brittany Reed waits as Hope
Shrader signs a fellow classmates yearbook. Jack Camoratto, Brian Trainer, Matt Lubin and Ben Sawin
smile while waiting to hit the High Striker.

According to Trice, the pilot plan for
Well 9 which runs 30 feet deeper into the
ground than Well 7 would be done on a
small scale in a trailer, with the most likely
treatment being carbon absorption. Samples during this testing will be done on a
weekly basis for four weeks. After that, it
will take another four weeks to get the results and another few weeks to finalize the
report for the township to review. From
there they will go into design, which could
take about a year.
In total, the process should take roughly
two years, according to Trice, but the results of the treatment would be immediate.

Mary E. Roberts Elementary
School, William Allen Middle
School and MHS Packages 1, security
vestibules,
and
2,
data/technology upgrades, are on
schedule. Package 1 started after
schools were closed, beginning at
MHS, to be done over the summer
for all schools. Package 2 has
started at MHS and WAMS and
plans to be done by the end of December for all schools.
Package 3, roofing, will begin
and end in the summer at all
schools. Package 4, toilet room
upgrades for Mary Roberts and
South Valley, has begun and
should end in the summer. Pack-
hour on the weekend the commitment is minimal, but the reward is immeasurable.
Do you love the sport, but dont
have a child in the program? The
Department of Parks and Recreation accepts adult volunteers.
All independent adult volunteers
receive a state registered background check. Volunteering to be
a part of your childs extra-curricular activities is limited, so
take that time now, when there is
time, even though it doesnt feel
like it. Enjoy watching them play,
learn and grow. Before long, their
caps will be flung into the air and
you will be able to look back and
remember all of the fun along the
way.
