CONTACT WITH SKIN or EYES: This material can cause eye irritation with tearing, redness, or a stinging or burning
feeling. Further, it can cause swelling of the eyes with blurred vision. Effects may become more serious with repeated or
prolonged contact. May cause mild skin irritation with redness and/or an itching or burning feeling. Effects may become
more serious with repeated or prolonged contact. It is likely that some components of this material are able to pass into the
body through the skin and may cause similar effects as from breathing or swallowing it.
INGESTION: Swallowing this material may be harmful. Swallowing this material may cause stomach or intestinal upset with
pain, nausea, and/or diarrhea. This material can get into the lungs during swallowing or vomiting. Small amounts in the
lungs can cause lung damage, possibly leading to chronic lung dysfunction or death. Swallowing this material may cause
effects similar to those described in the inhalation section (see "inhalation" above).
HEALTH EFFECTS OR RISKS FROM EXPOSURE: An Explanation in Lay Terms.
Overexposure to this product may cause the following:
ACUTE: The dye may stain hair, skin, and other contaminated tissue. Inhalation of vapors can cause dizziness, headaches
and loss of consciousness. Ingestion can cause nausea and vomiting.
CHRONIC: Prolonged or repeated skin overexposures may cause dermatitis (dry red skin). Reports have associated
repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with irreversible brain and nervous system damage
(sometimes referred to as "Solvent or Painter's Syndrome").
TARGET ORGANS: ACUTE: Eyes, lungs. CHRONIC: Blood, liver, kidneys, lungs.

4. FIRST-AID MEASURES
EYES:
SKIN:
INGESTION:

INHALATION:

Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation. Contact
a physician.
Rinse exposed area with water. The dye can be removed with hand cream or hand cleaner. Contact a
physician if irritation develops.
Do not induce vomiting. If spontaneous vomiting is about to occur, place victims head below knees. If
victim is drowsy or unconscious, place on the left side with head down. Never give anything by mouth to
a person who is not fully conscious. Do not leave victim unattended. Seek medical attention
immediately.
Remove the individual to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing difficult, give
oxygen. Call a physician.

extinguish flames.
Flammable liquid! This material
releases vapors at or below ambient
temperatures. When mixed with air in
certain proportions and exposed to an
ignition source, its vapor can cause a
flash fire. Use only with adequate
ventilation. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel long distances along the
ground to an ignition source and flash back. A vapor and air mixture can create an
explosion hazard in confined spaces such as sewers. If container is not properly
cooled, it can rupture in the heat of a fire.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Stop, contain and clean up the spill immediately. Contain liquids using absorbents. Sweep up powders carefully, minimizing
dusting. Dye residue on concrete and metal surfaces may be wiped and cleaned with light mineral oil. Shovel all spill
materials into disposal drums and follow all Federal, State and Local disposal regulations.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

STORAGE AND HANDLING PRACTICES: Employees must be trained to properly use this product. Keep away from heat,
sparks, and other sources of ignition. Store outdoors. If stored in enclosed space adequate ventilation must be provided to
minimize vapor buildup. Use non-sparking tools. Open containers slowly on a stable surface. When pouring or dispensing to
or from drums or other containers, insure that all containers are properly grounded/bonded to prevent static charge build up.
Store containers in a cool, dry location, away from sources of intense heat. Store away from incompatible materials (see
Section 10, Stability and Reactivity). Storage areas should be made of fire resistant materials. Post warning and NO
SMOKING signs in storage and use areas, as appropriate. Have appropriate extinguishing equipment in the storage area
(i.e., sprinkler system, portable fire extinguishers). Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Inspect all incoming
containers before storage to ensure containers are properly labeled and not damaged. Empty containers may contain
residual dye that is combustible; therefore, empty packages should be handled with care.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION

VENTILATION AND ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Use with adequate ventilation to ensure exposure levels are maintained
below the limits provided below. Exhaust directly to the outside, taking necessary precautions for environmental protection.
If necessary, refer to Australian National Code of Practice for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances [NOHSC:
2007 (1994)] for further information.

the European Standard EN 529:2005, and EU member state standards, the Australian Standard 1716-Respiratory
Protective Devices and Australian Standard 1715-Selection, Use, and Maintenance of Respiratory Protective Devices, New
Zealand standards, or Japanese standards. Oxygen levels below 19.5% are considered IDLH by OSHA. In such
atmospheres, use of a full-facepiece pressure/demand SCBA or a full facepiece, supplied air respirator with auxiliary selfcontained air supply is required under OSHAs Respiratory Protection Standard (1910.134-1998).
EYE PROTECTION: Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles) and a face shield. If necessary, refer to U.S. OSHA
29 CFR 1910.133, Canadian CSA Standard Z94.3-02, or the European Standard CR 13464:1999, the Australian Standard
1337-Eye Protection for Industrial Applications and Australian Standard 1336-Recommended Practices for Eye Protection in
the Industrial Environment, New Zealand standards, or Japanese standards.
HAND PROTECTION: Wear nitrile, Viton, or Tychem SL gloves. Check gloves for leaks. Wash hands before putting on
gloves and after removing gloves. If necessary, refer to U.S. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138, appropriate Standards of Canada,
and the Australian Standard 2161-Industrial Safety Gloves and Mittens and the European Standard CEN/TR 15419:2006,
New Zealand standards, or Japanese standards.

appropriate Standards of Canada, the European Standard CEN/TR 15419:2006, Australian Standard 3765-Clothing for
Protection against Hazardous Chemicals, New Zealand standards, or Japanese standards. If a hazard of injury to the feet
exists due to falling objects, rolling objects, where objects may pierce the soles of the feet or where employees feet may be
exposed to electrical hazards, use foot protection, as described in U.S. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.136 and the Canadian CSA
Standard Z195-02, Protective Footwear.
