Double-click the NE icon. The NE status displayed in the upper left portion of the
NE slot layout should be Running Status. If the NE status is Status Unknown, it
indicates that the NE fails to communicate with the U2000, or that the NE status
cannot be detected because of a fault on the equipment.
Refer to the description displayed in Board Status Description area, and query the
working state of the board. The board icon should be green if the board works in
normal status.

1. Choose Fault > Browse Current Alarm by Status from the Main Menu.
2. In the display Filter dialog box, click OK. The current alarm viewing window is
displayed.
3. Optional: Select one or more NE alarms and click Clear. The confirm dialog box
is displayed. Click Yes.
The current NE alarm refers to the alarm data stored in the current alarm
library of the SCC.
The U2000 alarm refers to the alarm data stored in the current alarm
library of the U2000.
1. Choose Fault > Browse History Alarm from the Main Menu.
2. In the Filter dialog box, set filter criteria and click OK. The history alarm
viewing window is displayed.

All history alarms are selected in the default alarm browsing template.
If you set the startup template of viewing history alarms, the Filter dialog
box is not displayed. Alarms that meet the startup template condition are
displayed instead.
3. Optional: Select an alarm. Its details and handling suggestions are displayed in
the panes below.
History NE alarms refer to the alarms cleared on the NE. These alarms are
stored in the history alarm library of the SCC.
The history U2000 alarms refer to the alarms moved from the current
alarm library to the history alarm library after a user acknowledges them
when they are cleared on the U2000.

1. Choose Performance > Browse SDH Performance from the Main Menu. Click
the Current Performance Data tab.
2. In the Object Tree, select one or more NEs or boards, and click

the tunnels by running status.
4. Confirm that the Running Status of any tunnel is Up. If not, handle the MPLS
Tunnel faults.

1. On the U2000, right-click the NE icon in Main Topology and choose NE Explorer.
2. Choose Configuration > CES Service Management from the Function Tree.
3. Click Query and then click Close in the displayed Operation Result dialog box.
5. Confirm that all the Local Working Status, Remote Working Status and
Compositive Working Status are Up.

1. On the U2000, right-click the NE icon in Main Topology and choose NE Explorer.
2. Choose Configuration > Ethernet Service from the Function Tree, and then
select an Ethernet service type.
3. Click Query and then click Close in the displayed Operation Result dialog box.
4. Select the NNI tab, and check the PW working status in the PW area.
5. Confirm that all the Local Working Status, Remote Working Status and
Compositive Working Status are Up.

When the inband DCN solution is adopted, check the DCN routing table to ensure
that the inband DCN are running normally.

Communication > IP Protocol Stack Management from the Function Tree.
2. Click the IP Route Management tab. In the tab page, click Query to query the IP
routes.

NOTE: In the IP routing table, if all the NEs on which the protocol is set to
the IP protocol on the same data communication network (DCN) are
displayed, it indicates that the NEs communicate with each other normally.
Hop Count: Indicates the maximum number of routers through which the
packets are transmitted.
Working Status: Indicates whether the current IP route is available.

1. On the U2000, choose Performance > Browse SDH Performance from the Main
Menu. Click the Current Performance Data option button.
3. In the left pane, select one or more NEs and boards, and click .
4. Click the Gauge tab, and choose Working Temperature for the performance
event type. Choose Display Current Value in the Display Options pane.
5. Click Query and then click Close in the Operation Result dialog box. Confirm
that the temperature is within the normal range.

displayed in Device Table.
The default value of Content Type is Data File. Then, the T2000 backs up

After the manual switching is performed by using the U2000, the service should
be switched from the working tunnel to the protection tunnel. After the manual
switching is released, the service should be switched from the protection tunnel
to the working tunnel.
1. In the Main Topology, select the source NE of an MPLS tunnel. Right-click the
NE and choose NE Explorer from the shortcut menu.
3. Click Query, and choose the protection group for the exercise switching.
4. Click Function > Manual Switching to the standby path in the lower right

You can check the real-time statistics about an Ethernet port by browsing the
statistics group performance of the Ethernet port.
1. In the NE Explorer, select the Ethernet board and choose Performance > RMON
Performance from the Function Tree.
3. Select the object from the drop-down list of Object. Set the range of
performance to be browsed, Query Conditions, and Display Mode.
4. Click Start. The information about the statistics group performance of the
Ethernet port is queried and then displayed.
ETHCRCALI: FCS and alignment error packets, this could be aroused by the
hardware fault of the Ethernet cable, Ethernet port, or even the hardware
fault from the remote end.
TXBBAD: Total number of bytes in the transmitted bad packets, this could
be aroused by the hardware fault.

The history group performance includes the statistics about the Ethernet
performance of a certain period in the past. You can learn about the Ethernet
performance data of an Ethernet port by browsing the history group performance.
3. Select the object from the drop-down list of Object. Set the range of the
performance to be browsed, Ended From, To, History Table Type, and Display
Mode.
4. Click Query, and the information about the history group performance of the
Ethernet port is displayed.

You can determine the method for obtaining and saving the history data by
configuring an RMON history control group.
1. Select the NE in the NE Explorer. Choose Performance > RMON History Control
Group from the Function Tree.
2. Set parameters that are related to 30-Second, 30-Minute, Custom Period 1, and
Custom Period 2.
4. Click Close.

The Hybrid MSTP equipment supports the RMON performance monitoring for the
physical port and the service object. The Ethernet service performance is also
called VUNI performance which is used to monitor one specific piece of Ethernet
service.
2. Choose the Ethernet service that needs to be monitored, right click and select
Browse Performance from the drop-down list.

4. Click Start. The information about the statistics group performance of the
Ethernet service is queried and then displayed.
In this Performance Management, you can check the real time performance,
history records through the Statistic Group and History Group tabs.
The specific monitor items can be selected through the RMON Setting tab
depends on the actual requirement.
Note: The operation of History Group and RMON Setting is similar to that of
Ethernet port RMON performance. During the routine maintenance, the following
performance events should get our attention.

real time performance, history records of the MPLS Tunnel.
1. In the NE Explorer, select MPLS Management > Unicast Tunnel Management >
Static Tunnel
2. Choose the MPLS Tunnel that needs to be monitored, right click and select
Browse Performance from the drop-down list.

MPLS Tunnel is real-timely monitored and the result is displayed at the window
below.
In this Performance Management, you can check the real time performance,

Link aggregation allows multiple links that are attached to the same equipment to
be aggregated to form a link aggregation group (LAG) so that the bandwidths and
availability of the links increase. Through the RMON Performance of LAG, you can
check the real time performance, history records of the LAG.
2. Choose the LAG group that needs to be monitored, right click and select
Browse Performance from the drop-down list.

real-timely monitored and the result is displayed at the window below.

2. And then choose Configuration > Packet Configuration >MPLS Management >
Unicast Tunnel Management from the Function Tree.
3. Click the OAM Parameters tab. Select Enabled from the drop-down menu of
OAM Status. Set the required parameters.
Note:
Detection Packet Period: When Detection Packet Period is set to CV, the
value of Detection Packet Period(ms) is 1s and cannot be set. When
Detection Packet Period is set to FFD, the value of Detection Packet Period
can be set.
Reverse Tunnel: When the egress node detects a defect, it transmits the
BDI packet that carries the defect information to the ingress node through
the reverse tunnel. Therefore, the ingress node can learn the defect status
in time.
When Node Type is set to Egress, the SD Threshold and SF Threshold
parameters can be set.

2. And then choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > MPLS Management >
PW Management from the Function Tree.
3. Click the PW OAM Parameter tab. In the OAM Status area, click Enabled. Set
the required parameters.
Note:
Detection Packet Period (ms): When Detection Mode is set to CV, Detection
Packet Period (ms) is always 1000 ms and cannot be changed; when
Detection Mode is set to FFD, Detection Packet Period (ms) can be set to a
required value

Configuration.
3. Click the Global OAM Parameters tab and set global OAM parameters.
