TECHNOLOGY AND MANKIND

Our daily life revolves around technology and computers. Technology has

changed over years and has influenced how we interact, how we live, the
way we travel, how we learn, our communication aspects and many changes
associated with technology. With the demand for improvement of technology
people lifestyle has changed, everything has been automated through
technology. Many people have described technology as the greatest occurrence to the
mankind. Its improvement has enabled mankind live a quality life. It has simplified life by
reducing complex tasks to simple ones and has positively impacted on economy. Communication
has been enhanced through mobile phones, digital media and various internet platforms, this has
enabled business and humans save on time and cost of production. However, with all these
improvements, there have been its weaknesses and this has left questions in peoples mind
whether technology is really good.
Technological advancements have impacted positively on business and

corporations by reducing the cost of production and saving on time giving

them a good competitive advantage. For example, the 3G/4G broadband has
enabled small businesses to reach wider target markets with less operational
cost. The earlier dominance of the market by the big companies who could
afford advertising airtime has been reduced and allowed a healthy
competitive environment for profitable margins. With technological
advancement such as internet marketing has enabled this small business
with small budget acquire these tools at affordable prices hence opening
them to new opportunities and markets. The invention and advancement of
machines have made life much easier.Vehicles have improved on to ease

transport.Computers have made storage and retrieval of data much simpler

and faster. This advancement in technology has enabled human beings save
time and automate most of the work making it efficient and effective in
production. Time is saved during travelling due to fast and efficient machines
such as planes and electric rails transport. Quality taste of food has been
enhanced through the use of ovens.
Improved quality of life has been attributed to advancement in
technology. New machines can enable early disease detection and
prevention, thanks to technology. New treatments can be realized through
technology and surgeries can be conducted easily through the advancement
of the technology. Improved production levels in industries have been
achieved through the automated systems making production faster, and
efficient. The level of quality has improved because errors have been
reduced and precision achieved.

Through many innovations, people have been rendered jobless. Example computers have
replaced human labour; a job that could be done by many people can be executed by a single
machine. This machines and robots has made life complex such that a simple task that was easier
has now been termed as highly complicated. With the Internet, people have become less
sociable.Introduction of digital media has replaced the human touch. This has made people lazy,
and this attracts lifestyle diseases and healthy complications. The rise in cancer has been linked
to the increased use of machines that radiate the radioactive fumes that are harmful to health.

With the advancement in vital technology, skills may be lost by the

coming generation such as the computer technology will replace the
traditional form of working.Concerns are being raised on the chaos that can
erupt when the systems fail and to the worst refuse to take people's orders.
With technology comes their moral and ethical issue such as cyber-crimes,
pornography materials as well as a security breach of internet customers.
In conclusion, great deals of people have blamed technology to the
weakness in the human race. People have become over-dependent on technology
and its use for performing even the simple tasks. With the improvements that have
been brought by technology being beneficial, they are the not that best.We should
be careful that technology does not take over our lives. The human input is much
more important since it provides the emotional aspect and human touch that cannot
be experienced through machines. Thus, with dependency on technology the work
was done will lack human touch and this may make human beings vulnerable to the
effects of machines. We need be concerned on the negative effects and implications
otherwise we might end up with more problems than solutions.
