When Windows has problems connecting to a DNS server, it usually results in your not
being able to browse the Internet. Troubleshooting and repairing DNS problems in
Windows requires some patience but is not too difficult.
Click the "Change adapter settings" link in the right side of the window. Right click
on the name of the network adapter when the new window appears, then click the
"Properties" option on the pop-up menu.

Scroll down to the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" option in the "Local
Area Connection Properties" window. Click the "Properties" button. Make sure the
"Obtain DNS server address automatically" option is checked and click the "OK"
button (unless your ISP assigns you a specific DNS IP address, which is rare).
Log out of Windows and restart the computer. Open your web browser and attempt
to surf the Internet. Sometimes simply reinitializing the DNS server settings will
correct many DNS problems.
Wait for the message confirming that Windows successfully flushed the DNS
Resolver Cache. Close the Command Prompt window.

If you have tried all else and you still cannot resolve your DNS problems,
there is a good chance that the problem is actually with the DNS server
used by your Internet service provider (ISP). Call the ISP and verify that
there DNS servers are working correctly. Many times, simply waiting for
the ISP's servers to come back online will resolve many common DNS
problems.
