DINNER
EMCEE: Sorry for the intrusion in the continuous flow of our
celebration but I would like to announce that we will have our
dinner this time. After the dinner, the family would like to request
everybody to please remain for a while for the continuation of our
program. Thank you.
At this point, may we call on _________________ to lead the prayer.
18 TREASURES
-As the debutante celebrates the beginning of womanhood,
she will need tools that help her in the future, encourage her
in the present, or give her something fond to look back on.
These treasures represent the friendship between the
giver and the debutante, because they indicate how well
they know each other.

MESSAGES AND WISHES FROM FAMILY MEMBER
SINGING
OF BIRTHDAY SONG
AND
CUTTING
OF BIRTHDAY CAKE
EMCEE: Happy birthday song. "Happy Birthday Glemie! You can
now blow your 18 candles and make a wish. It is now time to cut
the cake. As Glemie has reached the age of maturity, she will
now cut the cake and give a portion to her parents as a symbol of
her love and gratefulness to them."
18 ROSES
- It represents a girls readiness in the area of romance, as
was the original purpose of the debut. A budding rose is
popularly used to symbolize the blooming debutante. Aside
from being a symbol of love, the thorns of the roses also
remind the debutante of life's ups and downs. She may be in
a bed of roses, but the thorns (problems, trials, all the
negatives you can think of) are there to give her discomfort.
