EMDH is a French INGO, active in France and ten countries overseas in providing child development
and child protection services to the most vulnerable children.
In Myanmar, EMDH specifically targets children living in institutions, and in need of special care
(orphaned/abandoned children, street children, children in conflict with the law…).
The EMDH project aims at improving care and protection mechanisms for these children, and plans
to work in four states and divisions in the country.
Main activities will include: supervising and monitoring the activities in the institutions, providing
accurate technical support to the teams, liaising with partners and stakeholders, report and proposal
writing, in view of the children’s both well-being and reintegration to society/reunification with
family.
EMDH is thus looking for a dedicated individual, with the knowledge and skills to fill the position of:
MANAGEMENT
Direct management of two teams (Activity facilitation in Training Schools / Family Tracing
and Reintegration) and indirect supervision of Group Home pilot project
Planning and monitoring activities with each team and in collaboration with counterparts in
the institutions
Participation in the recruitment and evaluation of project staff
Participation in weekly internal Management meetings and regular Coordination meetings
with DSW
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Provide technical guidance to all teams and to counterparts in the institutions, on the field
and during case management meetings
Participate in preparation and facilitation of workshops relevant to the programs
implementation / needs observed
NETWORKING
Liaise with relevant authorities and counterparts in institutions in collaboration with team
leaders / arrange regular coordination meetings
Networking with INGOs, NGOs and other actors involved in child protection and attend relevant
meetings on behalf of EMDH
Requirements:
University degree in psychology, social work or related field
At least five years professional experience in related field (experience in project management is
an asset)
Excellent knowledge on child protection and child development
Practice of participatory methods
Good organizing capacity
Capacity to have a global view
Ability to work in an intercultural environment
Communication skills and diplomacy
Fluent in English (spoken and written) and Myanmar
Good computer skills
