Certification Programme in Operational Excellence and Consulting (COEC) which will enable

IIML-EXL Business Management Certication Programme in Operational Excellence and Consulting.

The one-year residential programme will be launched in May 2013 at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, Noida Campus.
This one of its kind certification programme is designed for mid-level professionals to help orient their careers in emerging fields and
equip them to capitalize on the challenging and exciting opportunities in these specialised domains.
The programme provides immense prospects for personal development and professional growth through an interactive learning
environment. The curriculum would also focus on developing strategic understanding of business, rooted in practical skill
development through action learning projects and case studies. A core component of the programme, which will impart domain
knowledge in consulting, will be delivered by the Decision Analytics team at EXL. It has 160 hours of classroom teaching in four
on-campus modules, each of 6-7 days duration at IIM Lucknow Noida Campus. Extensive Industry exposure would be provided
through guest lectures, senior industry leaders forum and on-the-job assignments and industry projects.
Industry related assignments form an integral part of the course curriculum. Therefore, the location of IIM Lucknows Noida campus
would be an added advantage to the learning process. The delivery would be oriented towards best practices, an integrated strategic
perspective, project work and constant engagement with EXL.

Integrative project
The integrative project is an important part of the Programme. This will add tacit and embedded learning nuances while working on
the project, enabling the participants to map their careers ahead. Projects will be group based and each group will have one faculty
mentor assigned by IIM Lucknow. The project themes will be devised and shared with the participants in Module I. The submission of
the project must be done when the participants come for Module IV in April 2014.

Evaluation system
In addition to the term-end final examinations, other evaluation instruments at the discretion of the faculty will include one or more of
the following:

Exercises, assignments
Group projects and presentations
Peer discussions

Award of certicate
On successful completion of both the components; (classroom sessions and projects), participants will be awarded One Year
Business Management Certification in Operational Excellence and Consulting.

Eligibility

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate (or CGPA of 5 on a 10 point scale) or CA/ICWA/CS
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification (after graduation) professional experience as on April 30, 2013.

Selection would be based on:
Application form, duly filled-in with self-attested photocopies of mark sheets and certificates for Standard 12
and Graduation (all years / semesters)
Self-attested experience certificates
Statement of purpose (SOP)
Two letters of recommendation
Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable) favouring Indian Institute of Management Lucknow payable at Noida

The Programme will be spread over four learning modules. The first three modules will be of six days each and the last module will be
of seven days. Sessions will be held between 9 am and 6 pm, with 15 minutes of break between two sessions and 60 minutes of lunch
break. Each session will be of 90 minutes duration.
Term-end examinations will be conducted on the day of arrival (Sundays) of the successive modules. The term-end examination of the
fourth module will be conducted on the last day of the module.

Faculty
The Programme will be delivered by the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and EXL faculty. Industry practitioners and
entrepreneurs will also be invited for continuous industry interaction.
