Function
VAS..S, position indicator and visual indicator
These devices are tted with a microswitch to supply
open and closed signals.
Opening: When the valve is opened the position indicator
is operated rst. This in turn activates the visual position
indicator. The open signal is marked in blue. Only then
does the double valve seat open to release the volume
of gas (overtravel principle).
Closing: The voltage supply is disconnected from the
solenoid and the closing spring presses the double
valve disc on to the valve seat. The position indicator is
then actuated and the visual position indicator jumps
to shut.
The actuator cannot be rotated on a gas solenoid valve
with a position indicator and a visual position indicator.

Example
We want to nd the size and nominal ange width for a
gas solenoid valve VAS.
We have the maximum ow rate V(n) max, the inlet pressure pe and the natural gas temperature T.
V(n) max = 60 m3/h
pe = 70 mbar = 0,07 bar
pe absolute = 0,07 bar + 1 bar = 1,07 bar
pmax = 0,01 bar (desired)
pa absolute = pe absolute pmax
pa absolute = 1,07 bar 0,01 bar = 1,06 bar
T = 27 C
