Recurring Projects Overview

A recurring project is a project that is created once and then released more
than once during a given time period. For example, you can create an
Inventory Audit project that is scheduled to occur quarterly in each store
for a three-year period.
Upon approval, the first occurrence of the recurring project appears on
your list of projects with the small icon . The master recurring project
also appears with the large icon
to distinguish it. The master project
appears on the Gantt chart in the position of the second occurrence (see
example screen)
The master project stays on the list of projects until the End date for the
recurring project; its dates adjust each time a new occurrence is released.
The master recurring project and the next occurrence are listed as drafts on your
list of projects
.

When you create a recurring project, you can indicate whether an

occurrence of this project needs to be approved after an edit or whether
approval is automatic after an edit.
After the project is released the first time, its next occurrence is
automatically released on the next release date in the defined interval.
After a recurring project is released you can:

Edit one occurrence of a recurring project before it is released. Or you

can edit the master project so that all future releases contain the
changes.

Stop a recurring project before all the scheduled releases have

occurred by editing the Until date in the Recurrence area of the master
project.

A recurring project uses the same Project Planning wizard as other

projects.
