ML-TN Configurations
ML-TN 6pC with ETU3 and NPU3 C boards (shown below), is used for all fibre hubs and sites with enodeB.
Repeater sites do not require ETU3 cards and instead a SAU3 card is used to provide user input interface to
connect the alarms.
The MMU2 boards installed at each site are detailed in the sites hardware worksheet.
ML-TN 6pD with ETU3, NPU3 C, and SAU3 boards (shown below), is used for all fibre hubs that do not
include enodeBs.
The MMU2 boards installed at each site are detailed in site specific worksheets
Note: All port allocations towards an ODF, the first ODF port is to be used for Tx and the second ODF port is
to be used for Rx

Design Guidelines
The following sections details what information is contained in the detailed design and
why specific information is in the detailed design
Scope
The scope of the design for all sites listed in the Introduction worksheet are as follows:
Site definition
Equipment card layout
Link Engineering Report (LER)
Physical port allocations and connections
IP address allocations
Bill of Materials (BoM)
The following is not included in the scope of this design:
Site engineering
eNodeB design
Synchronization
Site Types
Sites are classified as one of five types.
Below is a description of each type and the typical hardware they will contain

Adaptive Modulation
Adaptive modulation is configured with:
Minimum QAM is equal to the minimum available setting
Maximum QAM is set as per the relevant LER
LER
For all LERs in the following subsections
Azimuth has a tolerance of 5
Antenna heights have a tolerance of 2m
Coordinates have a tolerance of 10m
Links are designed so that end-to-end availability is 99.98% or better

User Priority to Network Priority mapping is not configurable on ML-TN WAN interfaces.
The ML-TN Nodes have two types of interfaces:
- WAN interfaces connect to microwave transmission
- LAN interfaces connect to either electrical cable or fibre transmission
The microwave links are configured for native Ethernet, which means the QoS handling in the ML-TN is common for microw
except for the following differences:
WAN interfaces carry microwave control traffic which is tagged the highest Network Priority.accommodate this.
The QoS mapping table includes provision for highest priority traffic (7) to be mapped to the highest priority queu
