Duties and Responsibilities:

Assess patient needs and help in speedy recovery by coordinating patient
care along with the medical team and other faculty
Orient patients and companions regarding services and people related to
care
Coordinate with other departments to provide a congenial, clean
atmosphere to patient and family
Ensure proper handing and taking over of patients, related articles and
equipment
Take good care of patients along with other members to achieve
management goal
Monitor the patient carefully at regular intervals. Carry out the various
patient care procedures like mouthwash, sponging, bedsore dressing etc.
Ensure that all the procedures carried out for the patient is explained and
understood by the patient and family members in cooperation with the
doctors
Responsible for carrying out all investigations, administering medications
and maintaining stock of drugs and consumables
Responsible for planning ,implementing appropriate nursing care in a
planned manner
Resolves for maintaining documents related to patient care and its
security keeping
Prepare the patient physically, physiologically and psychology for any
surgery or investigations, communicating the same with the family
members to gain their cooperation
To cooperate with the other department staff for a better and smooth
functioning of the hospital
Responsible for upgrading the activity card for billing
Maintain crash cart stock and all ward stock of drugs and consumables.
Check drugs on weekly basis for expiry date and replenishment of stock
Conduct preventive maintenance of all equipment and medical furniture
by safe handling
Immediately report to the Nursing superintendent for any accidental
damage to the hospital property or witnessed
Maintain confidentiality either related to patient or unrelated situation
Perform any other job assigned by the supervisors as per exigencies of
work
Ensure personal hygiene before entering the unit, scrub oneself thoroughly
Follow aseptic techniques and infection control at all times
Updates knowledge by participating in all related training programmes
Authorize to indent and handling narcotic
Implements and evaluates the plan care and revise if needed

 Concludes health education to patients and relatives based on their

learning needs
