Sch#5: MPLADS
Full name: Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS)
Boss: Statistical ministry.
Salient features:
MP can create durable community assets in his area.
MPLADS funds are non-lapsable (5 cr. year)
Lok Sabha MP for his Constituency
Rajya Sabha MP any district of his state
Nominated MP yes they also get, they can pick any district from any state.
MP can recommend during any time of the year. even if he demits office, his
recommendation will remain valid for the given year.
He can only make recommendation to District collector. The sanction and
implementation done by DC, he finish within one year.
Delay or laxity= responsibility of the District Authorities (and not of the MP).

Another important use of PIB= gather speeches by eminent people. Speeches are gold
mines for MCQ and Fodder.
Same applies to conference related coverage. Because usually some eminent person will
give speech @conference and PIB will write the highlight.
