Product Name:
Better Homes and Gardens French Country Vanilla Scented Candle

Target Group:
When walking into a Bath & Body Works store or the candle aisle of Walmart, there seems to be a trend of mothers between the ages of
25-55 purchasing candles. Women at this age live busy lives, juggling a million different activities and tending to their husband, children
and home. Because of this, something so simple as lighting a scented candle can brighten their day and allow them to escape to a fresh,
new world of relaxation and bliss. With this in mind, mothers between the ages of 25-55 are the target audience for this product redesign.

Brief History:
Better Homes and Gardens provides products and advice for those interested in gardening, cooking and decorating.
The majority of the companys products, including its wide variety of scented candles, can be found at Walmart stores
throughout the nation. The scented candles are the companys most popular products due to their presence in Walmart
stores. Better Homes and Gardens prides itself on the fact that all of their products are produced in the United States.

Big Idea:
Rebranding the company with a fresh, new logo is the first step to making the Better Homes and Gardens brand easily recognizable to
the companys target audience. Instead of retaining a text-only logo, additional shapes will be added to accomplish the goal of making
the logo identifiable. Specifically turning the logo into the shape of a house will cause the audience to associate the logo with the brand.
Better Homes and Gardens typically places a picture on each of its candles reflecting the scent of the candle. This method seems
logical, but many of the pictures used on the candles are not very appealing and lack the allure that scented candles ought to bring
customers. To remedy this, a simple design will be created that can be used on each of the Better Homes and Gardens candles. To
distinguish each candle scent from the others, a slight alteration should be made to the color and fonts of the candle label. This project
mainly focuses on the redesign of the French Country Vanilla candle, allowing for the addition of elegant cursive fonts and a lovely
country-blue color scheme.
By making the logo and overall design of the Better Homes and Gardens candles more appealing and recognizable, the target
audience of mothers between the ages of 22-55 will be more drawn to this product and sales will increase for the company.

Colors:

Logos:
The Better Homes and Gardens logo will primarily be featured in the color, white. The white logo was placed
in a gray box in order to display the logo clearly. The logo should be placed no more than 1/2 in. away from the
bottom of the candle label and no more than 1/2in. away from the bottom of the candle name--in this case, French
Country Vanilla. The logo also should be centered within the label. This logo will be found on the front of the candle,
regardless of the scent or color of label. The gray scale logo will not be used very frequently except for its placement
on the bottom, white label of each candle which mentions warnings and tips for using the candle.

Label Design

Label Design

Front Label:

This label is to be placed on the front of the candle jar. The top of the label should be in line
with the top of the candles wax, while the bottom of the label should end right before the jar
begins to curve at the bottom.

This label is to be placed on the bottom of the candle jar. The label should be centered in the
very middle of the bottom of the jar to ensure that it does not lay over any curves or ridges
that are found on the bottom.
