90. A telescop has an objective of focal length 50 cm and an eyepiece of focal length 5 cm. The least distance
of distinct vision is 25 cm. The telescop is focussed for distinct vision on a scale 200 cm away from the
objective. Calculate (a) the separation between the objective and the eyepiece and (b) the magnification
produced.

20cm. The concave surface has a radius of curvature 60cm. The convex side is slivered and placed on a
horizontal surface.
1)Where should a pin be placed on the optic axis such that its image is formed at the same place?
2) If the concave part is filled with water of refractive index 4/3, find the distance through which the pin
should be moved so that the image of the pin again coincides with the pin.

towards point P on the screen (see figure). Line AP is normal to the screen and the lines AP, BPand CP are
in one plane. The distance AP , BP and CP are 3m, 1.5m, respectively. The radiant powers of sources A and
B are 90 watt and 180 watt respectively. The beam from C is of intensity 20 watt / m2. Calculate the
intensity at P on the screen.

93. In young's double slit experiment using monochromatic light, the fringe pattern shifts by a certain distance
on the screen, when a mica sheet of refractive index 1.6 and thickness 1.964 micron is introduced in the
path of one of the interfering waves. The mica sheet is then removed and the distance between the slits and
the screen is doubled. It is found that the distance between successive maxima (or minima ) now is the same
as the observed fringe shift upon the introduction of the mica sheet. Calculate the wavelength of the monochromatic light used in the experiment.

contact with it, the apparent depth of the bottom most point of the lens is found to be 3cm. If the lens is
inverted such that the plane face is in contact with the table, the apparent depth of the centre of the plane
face is found to be (256/8) cm. Find the focal length of the lens.
