Organisational context
The role of the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) is to support the Premier as Head of
government and Cabinet through the provision of high quality policy advice; to provide strategic
policy leadership by developing and leading key policy initiatives, particularly in a whole of
government framework; and to improve continuously the capacity, integrity and independence of the
Victorian Public Service.

DPCs National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Branch provides authoritative and timely advice
to the Premier and Cabinet on the policy implications of major initiatives by departments and
agencies relating to NDIS issues, through detailed analysis of proposals, implementation issues and
managing critical actions. The Branch also has responsibility for coordinating a considered, whole of
Victorian Government approach to implementation of the NDIS.

Duties
1. Provide authoritative advice to the Premier, Ministers, the Secretary and senior officers on the
policy and strategic implications of the NDIS.
2. Initiate, manage and maintain close liaison and effective relationships with senior stakeholders
including providing authoritative advice and representing the Department or Governments
views on inter-agency committees and task forces.
3. Monitor Government policies, programs and services, in order to advise the Premier, Ministers,
the Secretary and senior officers on measures to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to
promote achievement of the Governments priorities.
4. Coordinate and lead a team of policy advisers, including workload allocation and supervision
of staff as required and contribute to the improvement of staff effectiveness.

Desirable Requirements
A relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage, as would experience working on social
policy.
