Notes
1) This is a variation range between various transmitters.
2) ITU DWDM channels 37, 36, ..., 23 @ 100 GHz spacing.
3) Minimum value.
4) Typical line width of the source laser.
5) This is a typical value. The maximum value is -158 dBc/Hz.
6) A user can select the SBS suppression threshold. Typical SBS and launch power settings are:
<70 km @ +16 dBm, <80 km @ +15 dBm, <90 km @ +14 dBm and >90 km @ +13 dBm.
7) This is the typical OMI for CENELEC 42 chs channel allocation. The minimum value is 3.9 %.
8) Only one output can be used for super trunking when the distance is more than 65 km. However
the second output is available for local distributing.
9) The build-in AGC circuit provides the optimum drive level to the modulator. The input level
range is 7682 dBV.
10) This is a typical value up to 862 MHz. The maximum flatness error generated by the transmitter
is 0.75 dB (47...862 MHz) and 1.5 dB (8621000 MHz).
11) This is a minimum value at 47 MHz. However the minimum value is reduced by 1.5 dB / octave
on the frequency scale. The absolute minimum is still always 15 dB.
12) Maximum value.
13) The test point is located in the input of the transmitter and the attenuation is 20 dB.
14) Typical value. The minimum value is 52.5 dB.
The C/N influence of the optical input power of a receiver can be seen in the following example.
The fibre link consists of
- HDO701 transmitter, +16 dBm SBS suppression setting
- DVO716 S fibre amplifier
- Fibre 4060 km + optical attenuation, total 1419 dB optical
- Fibre optic CATV receiver (BXO, DXO, DVO, HDO, AC8000 etc.)

The C/N influence of the optical input power of the 2 fibre amplifier can be seen in the
following example.
The fibre link consists of
- HDO701 transmitter, +13 dBm SBS suppression setting
- DVO716 S fibre amplifier

19) Typical value at +13 dBm launch power and 100 km fibre. The minimum value is 62 dB.
20) Maximum value.
21) The transmitter has two redundant power supplies and it can be also equipped with -48 VDC
supply. The power supplies are removable modules including the hot swap operation.
22) Other connectors are available on request.
23) The higher ambient temperature can lead to a permanent damage in the transmitter. The fans of
the transmitter are located in the removable power supply modules and they can be replaced by
changing a power supply module without the interruption of the operation.
