The invention of NONEL by Dyno Nobel's Swedish organization in the 1970's revolutionized the blasting
industry. Instead of electric wires, a hollow plastic shock tube delivers the firing impulse to the detonator,
making it immune to most of the hazards associated with stray electrical current. NONEL shock tube is a small
diameter, three-layer plastic tube coated on the innermost wall with a reactive explosive compound, which,
when initiated, propagates a low energy signal, similar to a dust explosion, at approximately 6,500 ft/sec (2,000
m/sec) along the length of the tubing with minimal disturbance outside of the tube. The design of NONEL
detonators incorporates patented technology, including the Cushion Disk (CD) and Delay Ignition Buffer (DIB)
to provide reliability and accuracy in all blasting applications.
NONEL detonators are available in the following range of configurations to suit both general and specialized
blasting applications.
NONEL MS
NONEL MS nonelectric delay detonators consist of a precise, millisecond delay detonator crimped to a length
of shock tube, and are used in open pit mining, quarrying, construction and underground mining. NONEL MS
units are available in firing times ranging from 0 to 1000 milliseconds.

NONEL MS Arctic
NONEL MS ARCTIC combines robust shock tube (superior polymers manufactured with an advanced
processing technology) and the original NONEL (the world's most accurate nonelectric delay detonator), to
produce the most robust nonelectric initiation system available in the world today. Designed to be used in the
most demanding environments, NONEL MS ARCTIC provides in-hole delay time for underground (non-coal)
and surface blast applications in the mining, quarry and construction industries and can be used in combination
with a detonating cord trunkline.

NONEL SL
NONEL SL nonelectric delay detonators are 30 inch lengths of shock tube with a precise in-hole delay
detonator on one end and a loop of shock tube on the other, to be used in conjunction with low-energy
detonating cord downlines. When used in a slider configuration, they provide independent deck initiation from a
single downline. NONEL SL units are available in firing times ranging from 0 to 1000 milliseconds.

NONEL EZ DET
NONEL EZ DET nonelectric blast initiation system was developed for a variety of blasting applications,
including construction, surface and underground blasting. They eliminate the need to inventory various in-hole
delays and provide fast, simple hook-ups while allowing an unlimited number of holes to be shot with
independent hole initiation. An EZ DET unit consists of a surface delay detonator housed in a plastic connector
and a precise in-hole delay detonator, linked by a length of shock tube. They are available in a variety of
lengths and delay times.

NONEL EZTL
NONEL nonelectric t delay detonators EZTL units consists of a length of yellow shock tube, with a surface
detonator attached to one end and the other end sealed. The detonator is housed in a plastic EZ Connector
block which facilitates easy connection to shock tube. A white J-hook is affixed near the sealed end. Easy-t0read, color-coded delay tags display the delay number and nominal firing time prominently.

NONEL Starter
NONEL STARTER nonelectric delay detonators are used as the primary initiator for mining, quarrying and
construction blasts. They consist of a spool of nonelectric shock tube factory-assembled to a detonator that is
housed in a plastic bunch block. NONEL STARTER is available in various spooled lengths for easy application
and deployment.

NONEL MS CONNECTOR nonelectric delay detonators consist of an 18-inch (46 cm) length of
shock tube with detonators of the same delay on each end. The detonators are housed in connector
blocks designed to accept detonating cord quickly, easily and securely. MS CONNECTORS are used
to provide millisecond delay timing between holes of detonating cord initiated blasts. They are
available in delay times ranging from 9 to 109 milliseconds.

Electric Detonators
Electric detonators have a long track record of reliability and accuracy proven by generations of blasters. Many
still prefer the electric system for the ability to test the circuit before the shot is fired. Recent advancements in
detonator technology make this electric series more rugged, accurate and static-resistant than ever before.
All ELECTRIC SUPER detonators use Dyno Nobel's "super" fuse technology, which provides precision,
accuracy and no delay overlap in all delay periods, with reliable performance even where severe "water
hammer" conditions exist. In addition, explosive output exceeds the minimum sensitivity of all detonator
sensitive explosives. Legwires are insulated with a superior polyolefin material which offers excellent
resistance to cuts, abrasion, oil, low temperature and high humidity. The Dyno Nobel shunt protects the factorystripped wire ends from corrosion and shields them from stray current.
Dyno Nobel's ELECTRIC SUPER detonators are available in the following types to suit both general and
specialized blasting applications.
Electric Super SP
Electric Super SP is a high strength, static resistant, millisecond delay electric detonator available in 26 distinct
periods from 5 to 750 milliseconds. Field results with Electric Super SP have shown impressive improvements
in vibration control and fragmentation. This detonator is ideal for use in mining, quarrying and construction
work.

Electric Super LP
Electric Super LP is a high strength, long period delay electric detonator available in 19 distinct periods
from .025 to 5.1 seconds. This series of detonators provides the long delay times necessary for improved relief
and fragmentation in underground mining (non-coal) and construction applications such as drift
development, raise, shafts, slopes and tunnels. Electric Super LP can also be used for certain surface
blasting applications, such as pipeline work, where long delay periods are advantageous.

PRIMALINE SMS (Salt Mine Series)
PRIMALINE SMS consists of a precise, high strength detonator on a green 0.9 g/m (4 gr/ft) PRIMALINE
detonating cord lead. Because of the self-consuming nature of the PRIMALINE SMS lead, these units are
ideally suited for mining operations, such as salt and chemical limestone, where contamination of the material
blasted cannot be tolerated.
