1st Semester (S.Y.2015-2016)
Forensic questioned document examination
I. Course description:
This pertains to the study of all types of questioned documents. It includes the presentation of several of examination conducted on
questioned handwriting and signature to determine whether or not they were written by one or the same person. It likewise covers the study of
all types of document alterations/obliterations as well as its method of detection. Deciphering of erased entries in the documents and
examination of counterfeit bills are also included. Methods of collection, handling and preservation of questioned documents will also be taken
up.
II. Course unit: 3 units
III. Course duration: 54 hours
IV. Course objectives:
At the end of the course the student shall have:
1. Identified the nature of forge handwriting and signature
2. Describe the various technique of examination conducted on questioned handwriting and signatures for the purpose of determining whether
or not they were written by one and the same person
3. Enumerate the different types of document alteration/obliterations and procedures used for its scientific detection

4. Determine how to decipher erase entries in the document

5. Identified the nature of counterfeit bill as well its scientific detection
6. Familiarize themselves with the standard procedures used in the collection, handling and preservation of questioned document

Forensic ballistics
I. Course description:
The course deals with the study of firearms identification with the use of scientific laboratory equipment. the subject gives emphasis on the
study of ammunition(cartridge or rounds),projectiles(bullet, slug, shot or balls)gunpowder, primer and other explosives. it includes also the
principle in the examination of evidence and the preparation of reports for legal proceeding for the solution of cases involving firearms.

I. Course description:
This course is design for the student to classify and analyze different crime trends and patterns, analyze criminological theories, and conduct
research. Topics include the nature of criminology, criminological methods, crime causation, and characteristics of types of crimes and offenders.
The police, courts, and corrections and the effects of the criminal justice system in society are also examined.
