NCBM_PressRelease_CourtRuling.final.docx
Letter to Business Council.pdf
Just last week, an Atlanta Court ruled finding all issues in our favor. It is truly a new day for
NCBM, and we can now move forward confidently. Please find attached a press release that
went out on the ruling.I'vealso included a letter that went to Business Council members last
fall that provides more background.
In light of the mismanagement in the past, the Board will likely take action to wind down
NCBM. Recognizing the continued need for black mayors to have a voice on the national
stage, Mayor Johnson will be founding a new organization with a modernized mission and
wider-scale participation. This organization will be committed to beingthe premiere
organization representing black elected officials in the country.Black mayors from the
largest American cities have already committed to joining (see list below), and many
businesses have already committed to joining the Business Council. We would love for you
to join us as well.
Best Regards,
Stephanie Mash

Catching up
Sunday, June 23, 2013 7:48:40 PM
Hi,
I am flying back to Sacramento now and preparing for the work week. At the last minute I was asked to
attend a forum in DC on Wed so I will be flying out on the red eye on Monday night Tuesday morn.
Therefore I would like to set up our weekly meeting around 2pm on Monday if that works for you.
Also I will meet with the interns first thing on Monday. I have one of them working on the affordable
care act for NCBM. Are you working on it as well. I have traded emails with the White House staff,
Kellyn Blossoms. She is supposed to be sending me materials. I was working with interns to outline a
program and next step in preparation for a NCBM Board meeting. The Mayor wanted us to shoot for
August but it looks like that may happen in July.

Check-In Regarding NCBM
Tuesday, July 02, 2013 10:51:55 AM
Hi Reenie,
I hope you are well.
I'm glad our mayors had a chance to check in last week at the USCM Annual Meeting. I trust their
exchange was productive.
I was wondering if I could have a quick phone call with you or whoever on your team oversees Mayor
Warren's intergovernmental affairs. I would like to discuss the National Conference of Black Mayors,
including the potential for Mayor Warren to become involved. I understand this was one of the topics
our mayors discussed last week.
Please let me know who I can connect with, or if I can call you regarding this matter.
Thanks!

Checking In
Wednesday, April 02, 2014 6:55:48 AM
Good morning Daniel. I hope this finds you well. I wanted to update you on a few things.
1. I spoke with Josh about NCBM. We are going to join NCBM this year once new leadership is installed this spring. We are excited
about this partnership.
2. Josh and I also spoke about USCM. He and I are connecting later this week to discuss to giving levels to present at the annual
meeting. We are looking forward to the session in June.
3. As I understand it, Colin has been in touch with you and others at the City about the PUP. Has there been any recent movement on a
decision? Is there anything else you need from us?
Thanks so much, Daniel. Best to you. Feel free to give me a call if you'd like.
