My versatile educational and professional background gave me the chance to learn

from and work side by side with some of the leading professors and researchers
in the area of Multiple Antenna Systems. I have strong knowledge in the area of
antenna design and implementation, signal processing, radiation and propagation
of electromagnetic waves, statistical analysis, etc. Moreover, I had the chance to
work in an international environment which taught me the importance of strong
relationships and how to build them - a great skill when working with customers
and team-based environment. I have experience in team working and problem
solving and knowledge of the latest communication and antenna systems. I have
well developed abilities to prioritize, schedule, and execute activities to efficiently
accomplish tasks, and to multitask and manage more than one project at a time.
In my group I was known as a person with organization skills and one who you can
depend on.

Researcher in the area of Antennas and Propagation for Wireless Body Area
Networks
October 2012 March 2015
My responsibilities included but were not limited to design and implementation of wearable antenna systems, how their performance is affected by the
proximity of the human body, signal propagation in different environments and
measurement data processing. Furthermore, it included the organization and
performance of multiple measurement campaigns in indoor environments and
anechoic chambers. My work included simulations using different computer
programs such as CST, SEMCAD X, ADS, etc. and programming in MATLAB
in the area of linear algebra, Fourier transforms, nonlinear numerical methods,
polynomials, statistics, etc.

Diversity Performance of Off-Body MB-OFDM UWB MIMO Published:
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation
(Volume 63, Issue 7, pages 3187-3197)
The aim of this paper was to present a method for determining the minimum required number of UWB antennas for off-body MB-OFDM UWB
MIMO communication and their optimal position on the body, necessary to
provide a reliable diversity antenna system operating in the FCC (Federal
Communications Commission) band between 3.1 and 10.6 GHz. Their optimal positions on the body are determined through simulations and validated
by measurements.
Antenna Performance Evaluation and Comparison for Off-Body MIMO Systems Submitted

Marina V. Marinova

The aim of this paper was to compare the performance of a 2x4 MIMO
off-body system, operating at 3.6 GHz with 200 MHz of bandwidth in LoS
environment, employing three different types of wearable antennas. The
analysis was based on measurement data acquired during a measurement
campaign that took place in 2014 at UCL - Leuven La Neuve. Furthermore,
the aim was to investigate how the same system performs in NLoS conditions. The comparison was based on different channel parameters, such as
correlation, branch power ratio, capacity, etc.

Thesis Topic: Antenna Performance Evaluation through Capacity: Measurement based Analysis
Supervisors: Boyan Yanakiev, Gert Pedersen, Morten Christensen
The project is part of the AAU/Molex contribution to the Converged Advanced Mobile Media Platform (CAMMP) project.
The purpose of this project was to compare different MIMO antenna systems
for 4G mobile communication systems, evaluating them through capacity.
For the purpose was used the measurement data from a 2009 measurement
campaign carried out in downtown Aalborg. Several MATLAB codes were
written for calculating different antenna parameters, such as correlation coefficient, channel gain, branch power ratio, capacity, etc. The received results are statistically analyzed and used for comparing the different MIMO
systems and for investigating how the different antenna parameters influence
the capacity.

Other projects:
1. Antennas for the Fourth Generation (4G) Mobile Communication Systems: Performance Evaluation through Capacity
Supervisors: Boyan Yanakiev, Gert Pedersen, Morten Christensen
The purpose of this project was to compare different simulated MIMO
antenna systems and evaluating them through capacity. For this purpose different antenna designs were simulated, build and measured. A
MATLAB code was written which simulates different fading channels
(Rayleigh, Rician). Using the results for the fading channels and the
radiation patterns of the simulated antennas, the SNR and the capacity
was calculated. The capacity was also calculated for the build antennas
and the results for both cases were analyzed and compared.
2. Using Antenna Diversity for Minimizing Fading Effects for Maritime
Satellite Systems
Supervisor: Patrik Eggers
The purpose of this project was to investigate the possibility for replacing an existing tracking antenna system with a diversity system
which uses low gain omnidirectional antennas. The used communication channel has a Rician fading channel. For that type of channel were
proposed two methods for developing a diversity system: Selection Combining and Maximum Ratio Combining. MATLAB simulations were
performed and the results were analyzed. On the basis of the received
results, conclusions were drawn.
