Milestones achieved
The Mechanical and Electrical Department of the team
had completed the virtual model of entire vehicle with
all necessary analysis and improvements and
manufactured the vehicle and participated in the
competition.
Out of 700 teams all over Asia only 300 teams entered
phase 2 out of which only 150 teams were successful to
portray their technical details and were qualified to
compete in Manila. And Team Kaizen was one among
those 150 teams to compete in the competition at
Philippines.
Team Kaizen was the only team from Gujarat to achieve
this milestone and is among top 18 teams representing
India in this International competition.
Vehicle highlights
In order to attain maximum fuel efficiency, weight of
our prototype is reduced to maximum level by. Using
lightweight materials for our chassis and body shell.

Another important feature is the aerodynamics of

our body shell which is designed to reduce air
drag. Maximum power output that our motor can
deliver is 11KW. Its armature is designed in a
unique way. It has copper plates instead of copper
windings. It also has 45 RPM/V and has 0.21 of
torque/ampere. The battery pack consists of 4
lithium ion cells (LiFePO4 chemistry), each of
nominal voltage of 3.2V (2.2V minimum and
4.2V maximum) and 40AH of capacity. All the
four cells were connected in series and the total
voltage will be 12.8V. The intelligent BMS
(Battery Management System) will balance the
cells and will protect each cell from over-voltage,
over-current, excessive temperature, etc. and will
automatically disconnect the cell in case of fault.
The solar panel of 17m2 area was used to charge
the battery during running conditions. Based on
our calculations, the expected mileage was
around 300 Km/kWh under ideal conditions.

ABSTRACT
Simulation of robot systems is getting very popular,
especially with the lowering cost of computers. The
robotic arm is presumably the most mathematically
complex for the dynamic and kinematic analysis. The
purpose of this paper is to build a simulation framework
for a 3R robotic arm using PTC Creo Parametric 2.0 and
also to identify its advantages and disadvantages for such
analysis. Trajectory of the robotic arm is optimized by
considering the shortest path as an objective function
between the initial and final position which results in
straight line motion using an effective optimization
technique known as Teaching Learning Based
Optimization (TLBO).

The lecture covered various aspects of the design

considerations which were discussed at length. The
lecture spanned over duration of four hours. The students
then clarified their doubts making the lecture an
interactive session. The lecture concluded with a vote of
thanks from the faculty mentor- Dr. Vimal Savsani. The
guest was honored with a memento and honorarium.
.
Intermediate positions of the optimized results are taken
as an input for the simulation of the 3R robotic arm in
PTC Creo Parametric 2.0.The results obtained by using
TLBO and PTC Creo Parametric 2.0, such as angular
positions, joint velocities and joint accelerations are
compared based on RMS errors.
The verification of the obtained results by both methods
allows us to qualitatively evaluate the correctness of the
model and allow us to get the best result.
