Description: This is an inspirational poster designed with Photoshop.

It is a montage of a couple pictures.

Programs: Photoshop

Course: COMM 130

Instructor: Joel Judkins

Objectives: To inspire people to reach out and help those around them.
Process: I had a friend take a picture of me being lifted. I then looked up
pictures of dusty backgrounds. I used Photoshop to merge the pictures
together. I cropped the photo of my friend and I, and changed it from color to black and white. I inserted a simple text to make the message stand
out. I altered the brightness of the black and white photo.

Course: COMM 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objectives: This is a professional music company that can be taken seriously.
Process: I used the shape tool in Adobe Illustrator to make the music notes. I

used the width tool to add a different look to the bars of the notes. I had originally used the pen tool to draw my own text. I decided to go with a more professional font. I found that the logos with my hand-written text looked like they were
created for a kids store. I was going for a more professional look, though. I used

music business.

Date: June 12, 2015
Course: COMM 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objectives: This company is fun and also professional. If you love music,
come check us out!

Process: I used tools in Adobe Illustrator to create the logo. I used the shape

tool to form the circles of the headphones. I also used a curve tool in order to
make the shape of the headphones. It took me a very long time to get the letters

create the letterhead.

Description: This is an event ad promoting clothing donations. It was designed with Microsoft Word.

Programs: Microsoft Word, HP Deskjet 2542 Scanner, and PDF2JPG.net

(PDF converter).

Date: May 16, 2015

Course: COMM 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objectives: I am trying to get people to donate their used clothing items and
receive recognition for it. I tried to make the ad look cute and fun in order to
draw more attention. I think this particular ad would draw more women.

Process: I scanned a scarf, then cropped it and changed its size. I then added

the text describing what the event was and also the location. I added effects to
the text to draw attention and then edited the placement of the title and other
information. I edited the fonts and created boxes around the text to add more of
an eye-grabbing effect. I used Microsoft Word, a HP Deskjet 2542 Scanner,
and the PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter).

Flier
Description: This is a black and white flier promoting a leadership conference
for graduates.

Programs: InDesign
Date: May 8, 2015
Course: COMM 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objectives: I am trying to reach graduates who want to improve their leader-

ship skills and will be more prepared for their career.

Process: I sketched the design first on paper, then tried to emphasize that

the conference was for graduates by making Graduate larger than the other
words. I added thin rectangles to help the design look detailed yet simple. I also
wanted to create a flow by having the lines diagonally aligned.

Web Page
Description: A web page to show my personalized logo promoting music.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator.
Date: June 25, 2015
Course: COMM 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objectives: This is supposed to help promote the Musix Company.
Process: I used tools in Adobe Illustrator to create the logo. I used the shape

tool to form the circles of the headphones. I also used a curve tool in order to
make the shape of the headphones. I then used the width tool to add a more
realistic look to the top of the headphones. I chose a Complementary Color
Scheme and used the colors red and green. I inserted the logo into a web page.
I wanted to add more color so I added a background image with the same colors
I used in my logo.
