GAUGE
9 stitches + 17 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on
wrong side).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
This afghan is knit in stockinette stitch with a border of 5 stitches of garter stitch on the
outside edges to keep the afghan from rolling up.
NOTE: VelvetSpun is made of very short plush fibers that are held by center core
threads. When joining it, tie the new yarn very tightly and immediately work the ends
in. The ends left out will shed all their plush fibers, ending up as threads. When they
reach this state, clip them and the shedding will be over.
