The Solar System Module

I. Objectives
1. The Gaining of Knowledge
-The students should be able to know the apparent disparity
between the eight different planets and other heavenly bodies. The module
comprises of different activities and a lecture put in simpler terms for the better
understanding of the pupils in terms of how they can grasp the whole context of
the solar system. In general terms, the students will find themselves in an
interactive yet efficient means of learning the solar system.
2. Application of skills
-In a creative manner, the students shall impart their knowledge of
the topic within the activities that will be assigned to them. Moreover, the creative
style of the activities may include locomotor and non-locomotor skills in order to
further apply what they have learned, intrisically. The will be further discussed in
the procedure
3. Imparted Values
-Finally, the students shall know the purpose of learning why the
solar system works the way it should be. They shall understand the appreciation
of why we live on Earth, why the sun gives us life in a heliocentric perspective
and they shall learn to have a grasp on the heavenly bodies as they will be
scientists in the making.
II. Procedure
I. Motivational
A. Introduction
In order to give a background of what the students will learn,
they shall be motivated to take part in singing a simple song just to give a peachy
feeling of what it feels like to learn interactively. The facilitators shall there upon
introduce the song, teach them how to sing, give them the lyrics by means of
placing it in a manila paper or by printing them copies of the song. The song shall
then be sang twice or thrice in order break the ice. The facilators can actually act
it out while the song is sang since it can be interactive. They shall act out like
they are the solar system themselves. The following is a list of songs that are
available for learning:

B. Firm Up
The firm up is the pretest of which the facilitators shall ask
what they know about the planets since it has already been sang. Interactively
speaking, the facilitators will use the cut up illustrations of the planets and ask
them if they know anything about the certain planet. In this particular part, they
shall give emphasis on what they shall be learning as part of the module.
An Overview of the Lesson Plan:
-Introduction of the Planets

C. Discussion
In correlation to the lesson plan, the facilitators will then give a brief
discussion. The discussion would include the general description of the planets
that pertain to the solar system and the heavenly bodies that revolve around it.
The facilitators will be using a discussion board and lesson plan that will be made
in lieu of the subject matter. In addition, the discussion will last up to 20-30
minutes of the period since it is a brief and simple yet informative. Moreover, the
facilitators will add real life applications for example, the importance of the sun,
seasons, high tide and low tide.
Materials needed:
-3d Model of the Solar System
-Manila Paper
-Illustrations of the planets and heavenly bodies
D. Transformed Output
After discussing the different planets and their disparities, the group
will provide activities that will test the comprehension of the students of the
lesson. Some suggested activities shall involve groupings. The list of activities
are of the following: Aligning the Planets, Line Up Q&A, Dance of the Planets,
