DARI SEBATANG LIPSTICK

Lesson of Prime Entrepreneurial Lecture Series 1 was held on 15 th October 2014. The
title of this lesson is Dari Sebatang lipstick which presented by En. Wan Shaari bin Wan
Mamat. He is 53 years old and come from Kuala Besut, Terengganu. He owned a company
name Getaran Dunia Enterprise and act as managing director of the company. En Wan Shaari
had gone through lot of challenges to become a successful entrepreneur. In addition, he also is
a AJK Besut of Business Broker Networking Club (BBNC).
In year 1978, he works under Tenaga Nasional. Besides that, he also starts with the
furniture business in year 1990 at Kuala Besut, Terengganu. He was only 28 years old when
owned a Kedai Perabot. He works hard to find the factory from Kota Bharu to Pasir Puteh.
During that time, he keeps finding people who want or need furniture such as chair, closet,
table and so on. En Wan Shaari is willing to work with Tenaga Nasional and furniture business
at the same time.
In year 1993, En Wan Shaari has be announced by YB Datuk Zakaria to become a new
millionaire. The bank offered 300 thousand to him but he rejected. He let his best friend which
is also running a furniture business to take the amount of money.
In year 1997, there was a downturn economy. Furniture business of En Wan Shaari also
suffers the same problem. In year 2002, he had to close the furniture business on that time.
During that time, he also has to stop his job at Tenaga Nasional. He forced to leave without
pay in or get monthly salary.
After that, he decided to have a walk around Kuala Lumpur. He brought along a
lipstick to KL. During that time, the artist also suffered from downturn economy. One of the
artists divorced with her husband. The artist met En Wan Shaari and his wife. En Wan Shaari
took this chance to sale her lipstick with price of RM35. The actual price of that lipstick is
only RM12.50 when he bought it at Terengganu. In year 2005, he rented a place at Ampang
Park Kuala Lumpur to run his business there. He forced to work very hard on that time
because the rental was too expensive and its around RM380 per day.

In conclusion, there are lot thing we can learnt from this lesson. En Wan Shaari has
gone through lot of experience but he did not give up easily. There is lots of his outlet in
Kuala Besut such as happy home, pantai timur and so on. He behaves positive value to us. To
become a successful entrepreneur have to be brave and patient. There are no such thing to be
success without any motivation and good attitude.
