Unleash: Part 2 God’s Potential In You

Colossians 1:26-29 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from
ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of
this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of
glory:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every
man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ
Jesus:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working,
which worketh in me mightily.

Colossians 1:29 NIV To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy,
which so powerfully works in me.

There is a mystery (something previously hidden in the OT now is

revealed in the NT) that is now revealed to the people of God. It is a
‘rich and glorious secret’ (NCV). The secret is… Christ IN you is the
hope of glory. Jesus in you, the anointing in you is the only hope of
sharing and showing God’s glory.

2 Corinthians 13:2 NIV Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you

Galatians 4:19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of

childbirth until Christ is formed in you,

Romans 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be

conformed to the image of His Son

1 John 4:17 because as he is, so are we in this world

The highest goal of my life is to become like Jesus. Jesus wants to

manifest himself in this earth through his body..

We are to show forth His Person, His Words, and His Works.
(Character and Ability)

Sin is to ‘miss the mark’ the greek word for mark is ‘caragma’ where
we get the word ‘character’ from. Sin is to fall short of the character of
Christ.

How do we begin to tap in to and release our potential in Christ? Three

ways:

1. To unleash God’s potential in your life you must know the

source of your life

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed
is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. When God wanted grass…
he spoke to the source: the earth!

Genesis 1:20a And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly
the moving creature that hath life. When God wanted marine life…
he spoke to the source: the water!

Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature
after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after
his kind: and it was so. When God wanted animals… he spoke to
their source: the earth

When God wanted to create mankind.. he spoke to the source!

{Chris Sligh quote, ‘I choose to believer there is a creator, and if I have

a creator I want to know him!}

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion. God spoke to himself! God is
the source of your life!

2. To unleash God’s potential in your life you must stay

connected to your source

John 15:4-5 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit
of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in
me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing.

Your Source provides you Life

Your Source provides you Nourishment
Your Source provides you the ability to Produce

3. To unleash God’s potential in your life you must be willing to

be cut and shaped.

John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away:
and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring
forth more fruit.

John 15:2 AMP Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops
bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and
repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it
bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.

Pruning often comes from on OUTSIDE source. The situations and

circumstances of life provide the opportunity to cut away anything
from your life that would hinder growth.

Conclusion: Your only limited to what God can do.

1 John 5:4 ESV For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the
world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
