Question 1: You want to state your *opinion that the private education sector has
contributed directly to the growth of our nation. You find the following two passages.
Synthesize this information into a single paragraph to support your opinion*
Text 1
In recent years, the literacy rate of our nation has increased by leaps and bounds. These public
institutions had created an opportunity for a massive number of undergraduates whom did not
score an entrance into public universities. These graduates then become the majority of the work
force of our nation, hence contributing to its growth. (By Jack Daniels, 2002)

Question 2: You want to make a stand that violent video games are the main cause of
teenage violence. You find the following two passages. Synthesize this information into a
paragraph to strengthen your stand.
Text 1
Various cases of shooting incidents in schools are related to teenagers who are indulged in
playing shooting games. An incident in Columbine City, USA can be taken into consideration. A
15 year old teenager, an expert player of a game named Doom, shot and killed 25 school
students. Eye witnesses claim that the shooter did this without doubting his actions. He was
running around holding the gun and hunting for people who were running away in terror. This is
a form of egocentrism where the shooter is in a dilemma that he has total control of the situation
just like how he controlled the game. (By Russell Peters, 2012)
Text 2
Teenagers spend so much time in shooting people in video games. The games, on the other hand,
are so realistic where even the blood splatter details are accurately depicted. This causes a kind
of desensitization in teenagers where blood for them becomes something normal. At this stage,
they have grown immune. In short, shooting in reality is just as simple as shooting in a game.
