SCENE 1: THE UNITY

(Warriors, Menelaus, Hector, Paris, Helen)

Warriors: Brothers in arms! (2x) Friendship! (2x)
Hector: Cheers, Good King!
Menelaus: To peace! *all raises glass* of Troy and Sparta!
Helen passes by then Paris follows her

SCENE 2: THE SEDUCTION

Paris: Come with me to Troy
Helen: You dont know Menelaus, he will kill you if I do!
Paris: Then lets run away together, I can hunt I can feed us!
Helen: He will never believe we have left, he will burn Troy to the ground
Helen hugs Paris

SCENE 3: THE ABDUCTION

Paris: I must show you something.
*goes to where Helen is hiding*
Hector: Turn us round. Back to Sparta.
Paris: Listen to me, brother
Hector: Do you know what youve done? Do you know how many years our father
worked for peace?
Paris: I love her
Hector: It's all a game to you, isn't it? You roam from town to town, bedding
merchants' wives and temple mates. You think you know something about love.
What about your father's love? You spat on him when you brought her on this ship!
What about the love for your country? You'd let Troy burn for this woman? I won't let
you start a war for her.
Paris: If you want to take Helen back to Sparta, so be it. But I go with her.

Hector: To Sparta? Theyll kill you!

Paris: Then Il die fighting
Hector: Oh, and that sounds heroic to you, doesn't it? To die fighting. You have never
seen or even killed a man die. Me? I've killed men, and I've heard them dying. And
I've watched them dying. You know nothing about fighting and you know nothing
about love!
Paris: All the same I go with her. I wont ask you to fight my war
Hector: You already have.

SCENE 4: ODYSSEUS VOYAGE

Sword fight (Arnis play)
Achilles: Never hesitate!
Patroclus: Nervous?
Achilles: (sarcastic) Petrified.
Achilles sees Odysseus then throws a spear at his direction
Odysseus: Your reputation for hospitality is fast becoming legend.
Achilles: This is Patroclus, my cousin
Odysseus: Im Odysseus, King of Ithaca. I knew your parents well. I miss them. Now
you have this watching over you, eh? Learning from Achilles himself, kings would kill
for the honor.
Achilles: Are you here at Agamemnons bidding?
Odysseus: We need to talk
Achilles: I will not fight for him.
Odysseus: No, Im asking you to fight for Greece.
Achilles: Arent the Greeks tired of fighting each other?
Odysseus: For now
Achilles: The Trojans never harmed me
Odysseus: They insulted Greece

Achilles: They insulted a man who couldnt hold on to his wife, is that my business?
Odysseus: Your business is war, my friend
Achilles: Am I the whore of the battlefield? I wont be remembered as a tyrants
mercenary. This is not my battle, it is his
Odysseus: Let Achilles fight for honor, let Agamemnon fight for power and let the
gods decide which man to glorify. Were sending the largest fleet that ever sailed. A
thousand ships.
Patroclus: Prince Hector? Is he a good warrior as they say?
Odysseus: The best of all Trojans and maybe better than all the Greeks too. We sail
for Troy in three days. This war will never be forgotten, nor the heroes who fight in
it.

SCENE 5: TROJANS RETURN TO TROY

Everyone clapping
Hector & Paris: Hello father
Paris: Father, this is Helen
Priam: Helen of Sparta?
Paris: Helen of Troy.
Priam: Well Helen, Ive heard rumors about your beauty, they were not wrong (beso
beso)
Helen: Thank you, good king
Andromache and Hector hug each other
Andromache: Look (shows baby)
Hector: Hes grown
Andromache: Hes strong just like his father
Briseis: Paris! Hector!
Paris: Cousin, your beauty grows with each full moon
Priam: The young men of Troy were devasted when Briseis chose the virgin robes
Briseis: Oh uncle

Priam: I thank the gods for your safe return

(washes down drinks)
Priam: For the gods.
Hector & Paris: For the gods.

SCENE 6: THE CONFRONTATION

Spartan 1: King Triopas, my lord
Agamemnon: You won a great victory, my king of kings
Triopas: No one thought the Trojan beach could be captured so easily. *gives gift*
Agamemnon: A beautiful gift, Triopas. You will be among the first to walk in the
streets of Troy tomorrow.
King 2: My father, Neleus, had this urn made to commemorate his victory at
Cyparisseis. I present it to you in honor of an even more memorable victory.
Agamemnon: Thank you, old friend. Tomorrow well eat supper in the gardens of
Troy. *sees Achilles* Leave us, all of you!
Odysseus: War is young men dying and old men talking. You know this. Ignore the
politics.
Achilles: Apparently, you won some great victory.
Agamemnon: Perhaps you didn't notice. The Trojan beach belonged to Priam in the
morning. It belongs to Agamemnon in the afternoon.
Achilles: Have the beach, I didnt come here for sand
Agamemnon: No? You came here because you want your name to last through the
ages. A great victory was won today. But that victory is not yours. Kings did not
kneel to Achilles. Kings did not pay homage to Achilles.
Achilles: Perhaps the kings were too far behind to see. Soldiers won the battle.
Agamemnon: History remembers kings! Not soldiers. Tomorrow, we'll batter down
the gates of Troy. I'll build monuments on every island of Greece. I'll carve
Agamemnon in the stone. My name will last through the ages. Your name is written
in sand... for the waves to wash away.
Achilles: Be careful, king of kings. First, you need the victory.

Agamemnon: Your men sacked the temple of Apollo, yes?

Achilles: You want gold? Take it. It's my gift to honor your courage. Take what you
wish.
Agamemnon: I already have...... Aphareus! Haemon! (Heemon)
*soldiers bring out Briseis*
Agamemnon: The spoils of war.
Achilles: No argument with you brothers, but if you don't release her, you'll never
see home again. Decide!
*everyone in fighting position against Achilles*
Agamemnon: Guards!
Briseis: Stop! Too many people have died today. If killing is your only talent, that's
your curse. I don't want anyone dying for me.
*Achilles puts down his sword*
Agamemnon: Mighty Achilles, silenced by a slave girl. Tonight, I'll have her give me
a bath. And then... who knows?
Achilles: You sack of wine! Before my time is done, I will look down on your corpse
and smile.

SCENE 7: THE PREPARATION

Paris: Father, sorry for the pain I've caused you.
Priam: Do you love her?
Paris: You are a great king because you love your country so much. Every blade of
grass, rock in the river, grain of sand. You love all of Troy. And that is the way I love
Helen.
Priam: I've fought many wars in my time. Some were fought for land, some for
power, some for glory. I suppose fighting for love makes more sense than all the
rest.
Paris: But I wont be the one fighting
Priam *gives sword* The sword of Troy. My father carried this sword, and his father
before him all the way back to the founding of Troy. The history of our people was

written with this sword., carry it with you tomorrow. As long as a Trojan carries it,
our people have a future.
--------------------Hector: The man who killed Tecton outside Apollo's temple, I've never seen a spear
thrown like that. Impossible!
Andromache: He has no idea of whats happening
Hector: Thank the gods
Andromache: Dont go tomorrow!
Hector: Paris is the one fighting not me
Andromache: Fifty thousand Greeks didn't cross the sea to watch your brother fight.
You know this. You've been fighting your whole life. Let other men do battle this
time.
Hector: You know I don't want to fight. I want to see my son grow tall. I want to see
the girls chasing after him.
Andromache: Like his father
Hector: I must see Paris
Andromache: I lost 7 brothers in the Spatan wars, youd think Id be good at losing
by now. But I cant lose you, I wont survive. *hugs*

SCENE 8: PATROCLUS DEATH

Achilles: You violated my command. I ordered the Myrmidons to stand down.
Eudorus: I didn't lead them, my lord. We thought you did.
Achilles: Wheres Patroclus?
Eudorus: We thought he was you, my lord. He wore your armor, your shield, your
greaves, your helmet. And even moved like you!
Achilles: Where is he?! *slaps him*
Eudorus: Hes dead my lord. Hector cut his throat.
*Achilles punches him*
Brisesis: No, dont!

*Achilles chokes Briseis then throws her*

SCENE 9: ACHILLES MOURNING

SCENE 10: HECTORS DEATH

SCENE 11: MEETINGS OF GODS AND GODDESSES

Zeus: The mortals amuse me every single time
Hera: The brave one, Hector he was a good soldier..... and father. I pity him
Athena: Not too good I guess
Aphrodite: Achilles slaughtered him out there. Have you no pity on him, brother?
Zeus: A good fight is always a good show, my goddesses. Hector was meant to die
in the hands of Achilles.
Athena: The man was not created to kill men, but not Achilles
Aphrodite: Who is meant to kill Achilles then? Is he even meant to die?
Zeus: That we have to look down and watch
Aphrodite: Mortals dying here and there, what a sad time for both Troy and Sparta
Zeus: Its what we wanted, am I right?
Hera: Im sensing another war anytime soon, yes?
Zeus: Im counting on it

SCENE 12: PRIAMS MOURNING

Achilles: Who are you?
Priam: *kisses hands of Achilles* I kissed the hands of the man who killed my son.
Achilles: Priam? How did you get in here?
Priam: I know my own country better than the Greeks, I think.
Achilles: Youre brave. I could have your head on a spit in the blink of an eye.

Priam: Do you think death frightens me now? I watched my eldest son die today and
you drag his body behind you chariot. Give him back to me, Achilles. He deserves a
proper burial you know that
Achilles: He killed my cousin
Priam: He thought it was you. I knew your father, he died before his time. But he
was lucky not to live long enough to see his son fall. My eldest son, heir to my
throne, defender of my kingdom, I cannot change what happened it is th will of the
gods. Give him back to me. Let me wash his body, say the prayers, put two coins on
his for the boatman.
Achilles: If I let you walk out of here, if I let you take him, it doesnt change
anything. Youre still my enemy in the morning.
Priam: Youre still my enemy tonight.
Achilles: Your son was the best I've fought.
Priam: In my country, the funeral games last for 12 days.
Achilles: It is the same in my country. Then the prince will have that honor. No Greek
will attack Troy for twelve days.
*Briseis comes out*
Priam: Briseis? We thought you were dead. *hugs*
Achilles: You are free. If I hurt you, its not what I wanted. Go! No one will stop you,
you have my word.
Priam: Come girl
*Briseis leaves with Priam*
