members (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) to be integrated economically, narrowing the
development gap between them and the original members.

COUNTRY: SINGAPORE
Friendly business environment
Singapore is a top-class world city to work, live and play. The globally connected, multicultural and cosmopolitan city-state offers a conducive environment to creative and
knowledge-driven industries.
Stable Singapore is highly attuned to the needs of enterprises and the need to protect
invention and innovation.
Leading provider of services
Singapore is a leading provider of services such as international banking, trade finance,
maritime finance, insurance, treasury operations, and asset and wealth management within
the region. Singapore is the fourth largest foreign exchange trading centre in the world.
Reputable governance
Singapore is known for integrity, quality, reliability, productivity, rule of law, and
enforcement of intellectual property rights. The Republic is the least corrupt nation in Asia
and one of the top three least corrupt countries in the world, according to the IMD World
Competitiveness Report 2008.
Competitive tax rates

Singapore keeps its tax rates and tax laws competitive and takes a strategic, holistic
approach towards stewardship of key pillars of the economy, such as petrochemicals,
electronics, and clean energy.
Pro-business policy
The government has always adopted a pro-business policy, regardless of world economic
situations or crisis. It has taken tough measures including reducing corporate tax rates,
lowering employers' Central Provident Fund (CPF) contribution rates and capping office
rental rates. For the quality of its government policies, Singapore has been rated No. 1 in
Asia (PERC, June 2006).
Multi-cultural Singaporean workforce
The multi-cultural Singaporean workforce is highly educated, highly motivated and highly
productive. It is also proficient in English. Singapore has a large base of engineering talent,
with the number of engineers in universities and polytechnics expanding steadily each year,
in addition to the sizeable pool of skilled technicians.
Global transportation hub
Singapore has built on its advantageous geographical location to become one of the world's
top transportation hubs for sea and air cargo. Singapore's container ports are the busiest in
the world. They offer a choice of 200 shipping lines with links to some 600 ports in 123
countries.

COUNTRY WITH SUBSTANTIAL PRESENTATION

I personally chose Thailand. The presentation of different pictures and the incorporation of
cultural elements to the information about the country is very pleasing to the eyes. The
presentation is complete with facts and the artistic presentation is amazing.
