JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:

Senior Attendant
(A waiting list will be created for full and part time vacancies that
arise within the next 12 months).

GRADE:

Grade 3 16,231 - 17,372 (pro rata)

ALLOWANCES:

12.75% Atypical Working Allowance 25 hours


9.75% Atypical Working Allowance 20 hours

25 and 20 hours with evenings and weekends on a shift


basis

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB


To supervise activities and to assist the Duty Manager/receptionists to ensure the effective
and efficient service provision at Crumlin Leisure Centre.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.

Supervise generally and assist all customers to promote the safe use
of Crumlin Leisure Centre to ensure safe, enjoyable and effective use
of the facility.

Assist the Duty Manager/receptionist in the provision of reception


duties and supervision of other centre staff to deliver an efficient and
effective service.
Carry out fitness instruction, induction sessions and fitness testing for
new and existing users. Promote the safe use of all fitness suite
equipment to ensure safe, enjoyable and effective use of the facility.

Advise all users on exercise programmes and diet and lifestyle to


ensure they obtain the maximum benefit from exercise. This will
include special populations such as GP Referral, Special Needs
centres and Cardiac Rehab patients, where necessary qualifications
have been attained.

Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including


taking ownership of customer queries and complaints, booking
enquiries and related administration to ensure high standards of
service provision.

Demonstrate a team approach to achieving the objectives of the


section through full flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken including
responding to and assisting with emergency evacuations.

Co-Ordinate and carry out detailed administration relating to the


operation of the Fitness Suite including the operation of IT and
pertinent software.

Oversee the development, review and maintenance of Motivation and


Retention programmes.

9.

Liase with local health professionals to promote the partnership


between health and fitness.

10. Actively promote events and facilities within Crumlin Leisure Centre to
potential and existing customers, in particular promoting marketing
projects and initiatives devised specifically for the Fitness Suite.
11. Ensure that a comprehensive cleaning and fault reporting procedure
programme is in place and implemented and that the fitness suite is
maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and serviceability.
12. Co-ordinate and participate in staff training and development in
compliance with the staff training policy to continuously develop
personal knowledge, competency and skills to enhance internal and
external customer service. Attend section meetings as scheduled.
13. Assist with end of evening building lock up procedure throughout the
Crumlin Leisure Centre complex.
14. Cleaning duties throughout the complex on a regular and ongoing
basis maintaining the highest standards at all times.
15. Respond to and assist with all emergency situations and evacuations
pertinent to a Leisure Centre in compliance with Councils Health and
Safety procedures including those relating to Health, Safety and wellbeing to ensure the safety and well being of customers and staff.
16. Comply with Health and Safety and ensure that colleagues comply
with Councils policies and procedures including those relating to
Health, Safety and Well-Being.
17. Any other duties, which may be required, appropriate to the
individual's skills and the needs of the service.
