TONSILS
Tonsils are clusters of tissue on both
sides of the throat that act as part of
the immune system. By trapping
viruses and bacteria, tonsils produce
antibodies that help fight infections.

The Arlington Model

Tonsillitis occurs when tonsils become
infected and swell. In addition to
swelling, the tonsils may be red or
have white patches on them, called
pus. This can be accompanied by a
severe sore throat, fever, ear pain,

Sara Green will be the first of her family to get a

college degree.
“My grandparents wanted their kids to get a high
school diploma, and my parents insisted on college
for me. I don’t know what I’ll expect of my kids
someday!”
It’s likely to be a lot, because Sara’s on her way
to a teaching degree through WC’s early childhood
education program partnership with Tarleton State.
She’ll know how to motivate children and help them
achieve their educational goals.
“WC has made learning so enjoyable,” says Sara.
“It’s been the perfect place for me to start off.”
And we know what else to expect of Sara - she
plans to come back to Wise County to teach.
Sounds perfect!

Texas Stadium
showdown
The Northwest High School football team battles beneath the stars
of Texas Stadium Saturday in the Class 5A UIL state playoffs. The
Texan defense was in top form once again, but it was not enough
to get past the Coppell Cowboys in a 31-17 loss. Right, Brysen
Curb tries to escape the pressure of the Coppell defense. Below,
the Northwest cheerleaders had plenty to cheer about this season
as they kept the school spirit alive in another playoff season.
