Time is moving on, our summer is coming to a
close. It is time to begin to think about the opening of
the 2015-2016 school year. I would like to extend a
warm welcome to you and your
child into our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
grade classroom, whether they
are brand new or returning to
room 20. Throughout this school
year, each first, second, and third
grader will be experiencing many
new and different avenues in
their education with a strong
focus on the Montessori
philosophy as I advance in my
certification and training in Montessori..
Let me introduce myself. My name is Jazmin
Corbell and I was born in Tampa, Florida. I have lived
in St. Petersburg, Fl, Nacogdoches, Tx, San Antonio,
Tx, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dallas, Tx, and Panama City,
Panama, and have lived in Savannah, Ga for the last 13
years. I received my undergraduate degree from
Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005 and my
Masters degree from Armstrong Atlantic State
University in 2008. This will be my eighth year
teaching at Charles Ellis Montessori Academy. I am
married and have two young daughters. Louisa will be
three in November and Belia just turned one in July. I
love to cook and eat delicious food, read, exercise, and
be at home with my family and pets. I am an animal
lover with two dogs, one cat, and five chickens.
Traveling and discovering new places is also fun!
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege,
as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my
best this year to ensure that each student has a
motivating and safe learning experience in the
classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your
help. We both need to be partners in the learning
process. I need each of you to encourage your child at
home by helping to ensure that they have completed
their assignments; whether it be written practice,
online, or reading if necessary.
I look forward to meeting each of you on
Wednesday, August 5 . I also look forward to our
having a very positive year. Enjoy your last days of
vacation. Ready or not, here it comes!

Pack of dry erase markers (thick or thin)
Hand Held Pencil Sharpener with case
Distilled Vinegar
Ziploc Baggies

Please check folders daily for information
that may have been sent home.
Homework is sent home on Fridays and

is generally due the following Friday.
