Prophecy

Review last meeting - remind of paga, the ease of Joel 2:28 and OT prophets’ methods:
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zechariah all
wrote down prophecies based on things God had SHOWN them.

Your right to prophesy:


Every believer has the potential ability to prophesy - 1 Corinthians 14:5
Given out by the Holy Spirit as He determines – 1 Corinthians 12:10-11
The Holy Spirit has imparted faith upon you – Romans 12:3-6
This faith is needed to please God – Hebrews 11:6 (my faith definition – believing that you can
do what God says you can, despite all your intellect telling you that you can’t.)
You will find all that you need at work within you – Ephesians 3:20
How do you receive this? – Matthew 11:12
Because Jesus lives inside you – John 14:20 (step into that power)

Do’s Don’ts
• Do be eager to prophesy - 1 Corinthians • Don’t go outside the boundaries of 1

• Do follow 1 Corinthians 14:3 • Don’t treat prophecies with contempt – 1
• Do weigh what was said – 1 Corinthians Thessalonians 5:20
14:29 • Don’t speak out of turn – 1 Corinthians
• Do wait your turn to prophesy – 1 14:31
Corinthians 14:31-32 • Don’t believe every prophecy – 1 John 4:1, 1
• Do recognize the primary revelation given Timothy 4:1
through prophecy – Ephesians 3:2-6 every • Don’t neglect your gifts – 1 Timothy 4:14
