Good morning to the chairperson, honourable judges, respected time
keepers, teachers and audience.
My story is about.. THE VERY UGLY BUG.

There was once an ugly bug. A very ugly bug. All the
other bug were a bit ugly, but she was by far the ugliest.
She had huge googly eyes, a lumpy, wibbly-woobly head,
a horrible hairy back and spotted purple legs. What a sight she
was!
The very ugly bug wondered why the other bug didnt look
like her.
Spotty Red Bug, why are your eyes so teeny tiny and not
googly like mine? .My eyes are teeny tiny so I can hide in the
berries and be safe from birds,said the spotty red bug.
Skinny Green Bug, why is your back so smooth and
green and not hairy like mine? asked the very ugly bug.My
smooth green back mean I can hide in the leaves and be safe
from birds,said the skinny green bug.
Shiny blue bug, why do you have such big fluttery wings,
I dont have any at all, said the very ugly bug. I use my
fluttery wings to fly away from birds, high up in the sky .
Like this! said the shiny blue bug.
Hmm, thought the very ugly bug.
If only I had teeny tiny eyes, a smooth green back and
big fluttery wings, then I would be safe from birds, too.
So the very ugly bug made up new costumes so that she
would be more beautiful like her friends.
But she wasnt safe at all. The funny disguise made her
stand out even more! Now everyone could see her including a
big, hungry bird in the sky.

Yum, yum said the bird. Look at the lovely bug down
there. Its look delicious! And he flew down for a tasty bug
snack.
Argh! yelled the ugly bug as the bird swooped closer.
The other bugs quickly hid and flew away.
Then , suddenly, something very strange happened.
The big scare made the very ugly bug even uglier. She looked
hideous!
The bird was shocked to see the very ugly bug and he flew off
to look for a juicy caterpillar instead.
All the other bugs Cheered up because she was so ugly
and scared the bird away!
Now I love the way I look! said the very ugly bug
proudly. And Mr. Ugly Bug agreed. He thought she was
gorgeous.
The two ugly bugs fell in love and had a big family of baby
bugs.. who were all even uglier than their parents!
From this story I learnt that just being ourself is the best way to
be. Thank you.

Good morning to the chairperson, honourable judges,
respected time keepers, teachers and audience.
My topic is about the benefits of
recycling.
Recycling is a process whereby we collect unwanted
used or broken materials and turn them into new
functional products. Recyclable materials include glass,
old news papers, plastic, metal, textile and electrical
components. Recycling is not something new to us, it
has been introduced decade ago.
Ladies and gentlements,
The main reason behind this effort is to reduce
potential waste as we normally throw away any
unwanted things. Initially, humans are known to invent
many things, gadgets and vehicles over the centuries.
However, our action are leading us towards
destructions as we produce more rubbish and waste
along with development. The waste will end up blocking
the drains and the rivers. Besides that landfill are
covered with tons of solid waste and will destroy our
mother nature. If there is no action take, we will dump
tons and tons of rubbish all over the place.
Dear audience,

Here, I want to share two benefits of recycling.

First, recycling help to improve our countrys
economy. By recycling we can reduse unnecessary
expenditure to produce new materials. This helps to
reduce the amount of energy that used by factories to
operate various machine and vehicles. We will able to
save millions of ringgits to process raw materials like
rubbers, iron ,woods and glass.
Next, opening up recycling centres, means more
job opportunities for the general public. The recycling
centres need many workers to manage and process the
waste sent to the centres. Therefore, this action will
helps thousands of people out there to generate
income.
In conclusion, besides helping us to save mother
nature, recycling will improve our countries economy
and increase job opportunities. By recycling, we can
ensure our future generation will not be burdened with
serious environmental problems.
