Snack on Mon, Wed, and Thurs. We have no one to do Games on Wed
and Thurs, and no one to help in Games all four days. Please consider
giving us a hand!
On Sunday night we will be taking pictures of all the kids
(dressed up in their funkiest rock star costumes) which will be framed
and sent home with the kids at the end of VBS. All we need is a photographer (with a camera)! Give me a call if you can help.
Its not too late to sign up to help with Sunday School. This year
we are returning back to the previous method of teaching where our
lessons follow the sermon topics. Lots of learning going on at Peace
Sunday School!

Received so far this year $53, 123

Get Involved
No matter what you are able to do to help, someone, somewhere
in the world, will always remember your kindness. And the more
people that get involved, the faster we will end poverty, injustice and suffering. For families who have lost everything due
to a natural disaster or violence, small items of comfort a
warm quilt, a bar of soap, a set of pencils let them
know someone across the sea cares. Every year, Lutheran
groups and individuals put their hearts and hands into sewing Quilts and assembling Kits of baby, health, school and sewing
items, which LWR distributes efficiently and economically .
SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR MISSION KITS
Back to School sales are now on. We pack
school bags for Lutheran World Relief; these
go to areas of need all over the world. Your
generosity in donating the following items is
greatly appreciated. Each kit contains the following:4-70 count spiral notebooks; 1 blunt
scissor;1-12 inch ruler; 1 pencil sharpener;5
unsharpened #2 pencils w/erasers; 5 ball
point pens (not gel ink); 1-16 or 24 count
crayons. We have bags all sewn and ready
to be filled.
Mission Kits Project Needs
This time of year garage sales are great
places to find items for baby care kits: baby
shirts, sleepers (no onesies and no feet,
however can be two-piece, gowns, rompers,
or can be substituted for sleepers), sweaters
and jackets and socks. Sizes 3-24 months.
We can always use bath sized bars of soap,
new hand towels and bath towels. The full
list of all the kit needs is located on the table
in the front entry.

Peace Church Council Meeting Minutes June 10, 2015 6 p.m.

Call Meeting to OrderAbsent Gwen and Leon
Devotional TimePastor Matthew. What you spend your treasures on, God will put in your heart.
Secretarys ReportMTA Marilyn, 2nd Brenda
Treasurers ReportDiscussed confirmation expense. Last year other churches essentially paid us for the retreat,
this year the retreat was cancelled. MTA Marilyn, 2nd Brenda.
Pastors ReportSuccesses with 20-60 year old category. Individuals expressing interest in getting more involved
and connected. Jennifer discussed marriage seminar for Fall. Some disappointments in not hearing a lot of interest in Wednesday Church Night even though there are a number of persons who have expressed an interest in
leading. Discussed youth gathering teen commitments and what would constitute an excused absence. Discussed what the commitment expectations are. Discussed projected worship bulletin. Still exploring and seeking feedback. No plans to discontinue Release Time.
Old Business
Volunteer ListDiscussed pros and cons of developing a volunteer list for various projects on a case by
case basis.
Jeff Drier Parking Lot UpdateJeff was not able to attend but provided written report. Cost is $66739. As
of this week, we have had $49,495 come in and pledges in the amount of $21,060 for a total of $70,555. Riley Brothers is able to complete the project this summer. No financing obtained yet. There has been
some discussion about an alternative financing option.
Carpet CleaningCleaned patch with home cleaner and appears that it is just dirty, not too badly stained.
Jan will make calls for bids; Brenda has a lead on a bid.
Pew RepairDiscussed wood drying out at joints.
Wednesday Night Church NightDiscussed in Pastors Report

InsulationThompson quoteThis was emailed to council. Not urgent. The previous quote was not
fulfilled. New bids are higher but getting project done will hopefully save on heating and cooling costs.
Motion to amend previous council decision to increase expense using building funds not to exceed $1000
made by Jan. 2nd Marilyn.
New Business
Church FinancesWe budget what we spend. Based on Synod Guidelines we can anticipate an increased expense of about $1500 for salary next year. Utilities may go down due to insulation and reduced
LP cost. There is a need to acknowledge that 5 years from now the giving will not be the same as those
giving the largest contributions age. Discussion of what we are going to risk and what we are going to do
differently. Discussion of what we can do to alter the forecast. A 7% increase of giving will cover the discrepancy.
Fuel ContractingTom G will consult regarding the replacement of the existing tank which would need
to be moved during parking lot renovation. Charles will follow up with fuel contract recommendations.
Projector for WorshipDiscussed in Pastors Report. Will tape cord from front row for safety during
communion.
Next MeetingPastor will be on vacation during August meeting. Council agreed to meet at regular
date on calendar.
AdjournMotion to adjourn, Jennifer. 2nd Brenda.

Stewardship of the Good News

Ever had an irresistible craving? Youre watching TV and you suddenly have to have popcorn.
Or you get fidgety and just have to go for a
walk or clean the house or pull weeds. Or maybe youve had a craving to read or write or make
music or paint or rearrange furniture.
Ever had a hunger to connect with God? Ever
needed to feel Gods presence, or be reminded
of hope, or find forgiveness, or simply have a
word of strength for what youre facing? How
do you meet that craving?

Do not worry about anything, but in
everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known
to God. And the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your
