Employee Health Assessment Programs

Employee health assessment programs are a way for companies to improve the health of their employees.
These programs can lead to substantial health care benefits for employees, as well as savings for companies.
Individual or group employee health assessments are available and can be conducted on site at corporations or
at one of our convenient Penn Occupational Medicine locations. For individual assessments, we can create a
preventive health plan that specifies existing medical problems and recommends preventive activities. For group
health assessments, we can produce a comprehensive report detailing current health problems, potential health
risks and prevalence of risk factors. We can then design educational programs targeted to address common
issues, such as smoking, high blood pressure, nutrition and exercise, heart disease prevention and rehabilitation,
and cancer screening and prevention.

Employment Examinations
Our on-site employment examinations can be tailored to specific work force needs. In assessing a new
employee's physical capabilities, we can provide assurance to employers that new hires are healthy and
physically capable of performing their job tasks. While assessing a new hire, we can also provide drug screening
and alcohol testing to ensure employees comply with workplace policies as well as state and federal regulations
for particular employment activities.

Surveillance for Occupational Health Concerns

We offer surveillance for tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, rabies and a variety of other infectious diseases. Our
Occupational Medicine specialists have a sophisticated database to monitor changes in employees' health
profiles in order to provide appropriate treatment and preventive care.

Environmental Consultative Services

Occupational Medicine can provide consultative services to reduce employment hazards and prevent workplace
injuries. We are able to educate and consult with employers in such areas as safety, ergonomic work
environments and good body mechanics for job duties. We also can provide employers with important
information regarding trends in hazards for particular industries and the latest health care efforts to prepare for
and manage these situations.
