How to book
To book onto one or more of the sessions you should apply via the Learning4Health site at
www.learning4health.org.uk
If you dont have a log-in, please contact allison.brooks@capita.co.uk
After you log in, click on Face to Face Courses, on the top right of the home page.
You will see the study day youre interested in listed and you click on the i beside the course title
for the full information. Click on Request Authorisation to register your interest.
Your organisation then has to authorise you to attend and we will confirm your place.
Once your place is confirmed the pre-requisite e-learning will be allocated to you and you will find it
ready to start in My Learning on the right hand side of the Home Page.

The workshop is designed to help you understand what Service Improvement in healthcare is.
Course objectives:
Be able to recognise an improvement opportunity
Know how to get an improvement project started
have an awareness of basic statistical tools and how to use them
have an awareness of the basics of Lean and 6-Sigma methodologies
Explain the difference between process mapping and value stream analysis
Understand and explain the 7 types of waste

Leading and Managing Change

This course helps participants to act as organisational change agents and to learn how to
overcome resistance to change in themselves and others.
The course gives insights into your personal approach to change management and how you can
influence others. It will also review your current resilience techniques which will help build
awareness around how you perform under in challenging times and what more you can do to
increase your personal resilience.
As a result it will increase your own, your teams and the organisations effectiveness in
managing change.
The course covers the following areas:
Reasons why change fails
Using a framework for managing change
Finding the benefits in change
Communicating effectively
Personal strategies to handle the effects of change in the workplace including personal resilience
tool
Action planning
